Unfortunately I don't think that will ever happen. I think the Silmarillion would be better served as a mini-series, but as long as the Tolkien estate continues to hold the rights to it, I don't ever see it happening (especially by Peter Jackson).
Interesting if true. I know the Tolkien family has hated on all the movies, but I'm not sure if that hate started after the LoTR trilogy was released or well before that.
Excluding the scenes with the Necromancers that were added, liberties were taken with specific scenes that appeared in the Hobbit.

If I am not mistaken, the blue color occurs when the purity of the drug is high. Hence when Todd cooks and can't get the 90%+ purity, the drug isn't blue.
