    Pan'Theon: Rise' of th'e Fal'Len - #1 Thread in MMO

There was a killer forum post that suggested ramdrive for some of the files (shaders) . Before the official Hitching shader fixes this thing worked like a charm... I also added an ssd and it ran very very well.. it amazed me however that it took them around 2 years to reduce the hitching yet...

    Poll Who here hates raiding?

I always liked raiding, preferring contested mobs on a PVP server.. that is/was worth the extra effort. Just have to be diligent with setup and gathering so it doesn't take an hour to assemble.

Tried this, never really play FF before. Put down pretty quick, is there a point where the story kicks up ? Hours in etc ? perhaps I have to push through.

Planescape Torment Kickstarter: A spiritual sequel to be set in Monte Cook's Numenera

Yes Indeed. I spent some time over the last week playing and it is much improved from what I saw several months ago. Definitely worth jumping in. Its a very interesting world you are exploring here, tons of puzzles everywhere you look and shit to figure out, very strong in the R of RPG. You can...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

I just started playing this and wow, pleasantly surprised. I played last year and got bored at like level 23. I am 30 now and not stopping anytime soon. With the changes aka: One Tamriel, you can play this just like Skyrim. Just wander and do what you want when you want as everything is...

    Civilization VI

So is this a day 1 purchase or not ? I have not read much.. last time CIV V ripped out quite a bit of CIV 4 functionality and then added it back with DLC... It seems to be that this is actually CIV V+ can anyone confirm ?

    Divinity: Original Sin 2

I am playing DOS2 early access and the game looks very very good graphically. The combat gameplay seems a bit faster than the original and I really like the starting area and story. This one is going to be good. Playing a BattleMage as main and she is raping faces. Also carrying a fighter...

    No Man's Sky

You can have a great weekend with this... however i don't see the point in playing much more myself, once you have seen a few pretty planets and explored a few caves, you kinda seen em all. Maybe in the future mods or DLC will add more to the aliens you see, space stations and settlements.

    Pan'Theon: Rise' of th'e Fal'Len - #1 Thread in MMO

I don't agree that EQ or vanguard didn't have little details at all.. 2 quick examples 1. VG Different styles of clothes / armors per continent... this gives a real world feel. That there are actually cultures and inhabitants of the game world. 2. EQ - zones that were different at night...

Vanguard - I don't give a fuck if it's dead, It's still brown as fuck (Download link in 1st post)

I never crashed at a chunkline, but i think i had every other issue you mentioned ( mostly early on ) and I always would /flush when i entered a new chunk even through the end of the game.

I was an early adopter of SSDs and it solved the problem for me chunks would load in under a second.

    Pan'Theon: Rise' of th'e Fal'Len - #1 Thread in MMO

I always found raiding fun when you are in one of the top guilds racing to kill content first or contested content on PVP servers ( eq2 ).

    Pan'Theon: Rise' of th'e Fal'Len - #1 Thread in MMO

There are a few facts that may affect any throwback MMO that may be happening in the future. 1. PC gaming reached its peak of funding and large scale releases around 2007-2008. Large publishers were dumping a ton of funding into PC gaming including a bunch on MMOs. 2. No Big publisher today...

Star Citizen Online - The search for more money

At least they are trying to push some envelopes, even if only on paper.. its better than the penny counting LCD crap that the industry has been putting out for years... Being skeptical is cool, but doubting the indies is like doubting Obi-Wan kenobi... they are our only hope.

Baldur's Gate 3 by Larian Games

The dumb thing given all the drama is the game is really really good. typical bugs but its all there: Great variation in encounters decisions matter multiple paths to solve dungeon/quest - good / evil puzzles exploration rewarded Map is awesome its good stuff and the story fits...

I am playing this and its fun... its just more BG. I have not tried multiplayer but the rest ( maybe 1/2 way through ) has been great. Loved the events that trigger, puzzles, exploration being rewarded ( i am uncovering the whole damn map )... Its good stuff. If you are interested in...

The Saga Of Lucimia- Group Based MMO.

Vanguard - I don't give a fuck if it's dead, It's still brown as fuck (Download link in 1st post)

I played bmg and I have a vague memory of the grp heal being broken at one point but briefly .. I do absolutely remember mobs like the cats in the pyramid area which did exactly what you described above , at times I would forget and start life tapping lol

Omg! I remember that bmg thing, I healed many a person from long distance with that ha. Those grouping bugs were horrid, we used to use a chat channel ( guild or other ) and reform when we all got to the chunk.. That was quite a PiTA

Vanguard - I don't give a fuck if it's dead, It's still brown as fuck (Download link in 1st post)

Rope was cool though and I felt it part of the game even though it was likely intended to be a bug tool , there were times in Vg where navigating a dungeon included some tricky moves to avoid mobs.

Hero's Song by John Smedley - ARPG/MMO Lite

sadly its where the industry has gone. After the move to consoles and consolidation in the industry, its all bean counters now and they being part of public companies have to show increased revenues. So since say 2004, what they have been doing is taking RMT and putting it into games then...
