I just remember reading how Kevin Feige (MCU Production Overseer guy) had them put an arm/hand loss/removal in the MCU Phase 2 films as his nod to Empire Strikes Back. So thought it was funny that he made them to it on AoS too.

Paul Walker's character is retiring from racing/the family business at the end of this one according to Vin Diesel from twitter a few months ago. Vin Diesel will just continue on for 8 9 and 10 with out him.

Yes pretty sure that is what it will be. How long till they get there is another story. I really doubt this season. However they may decide to use it as a base if it is not inhabited. Just glad to see that what it was that driving Coulson crazy has some meaning in the long run of all of Marvel.
