You have a high refresh monitor though. All those extra frames get wasted on a typical 60Hz monitor.

    1. The 1070 is for 1440p gaming while the 1060 is for 1080p. If you don't have a 2560x1440 monitor (or a high refresh one), then the 1060 is sufficient imo, it's equivalent to a 970 more or less, also runs much cooler/quieter which is important in a small box. If you have a 1440 monitor, then by...

Most people don't seem to like the fans' noise, so they end replacing them driving the overall cost higher. Anyway, here is a sound sample of a h110i under load. Btw, that Youtube channel is great if you want to hear the sound of various coolers. Edit: In regards to water coolers, you don't...

GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 announced available May 27th

Will probably be slightly better than a 960. I imagine price will be over $150 for the Ti partner boards.

You need to know the clearance you have for the cooler first. Either measure it yourself or check the manufacturer's specs for the case, they usually list it.

wow Here in Europe there hasn't been a Note release since the 4, so a lot of people were waiting to upgrade to the 7. This year was looking so great for Samsung with the S7, then boom, this happens.

Surely the Note 7 will get re-released at some point with no issues, but man what a disaster. Don't recall anything that bad happening with a premium phone release.

Speaking of cases, i got my Define R5 and it made me feel like i bought a new PC. First "enthusiast" case i got, however i think it's overkill for the average user. I don't really need 12 drive bays or 9 possible fan locations. My ideal case would be shorter in length by a couple of inches while...

There aren't any new high refresh IPS panels coming up afaik, so it'll be only that AUO 27'' panel being used in those monitors. I don't expect prices to fall significantly, however there is an ugly Pixio monitor with a Freesync version of this panel that sells for less than $400 in Amazon. As...

There are AOC and Viewsonic 27" G-Sync 1440/165 IPS monitors too, but they may not be widely available yet. Personally i prefer TN over IPS in general, better pixel response time and lack of ips glow. A friend has the Asus PG278 and i think it looks great, vibrant and pleasant colours, not much...

I am looking for a good case for my main gaming PC, i am still using some shitty OEM 10+ years old one which definitely doesn't help much with cooling/space. Looking mainly for a balance between acoustics and cooling. Will have to use a DVD, but other than that, nothing exotic. Standard ATX and...

GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 announced available May 27th

Except that you can't see that in a 60Hz display. The 970 can run smoothly at 60fps basically everything except a few weird games.

GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 announced available May 27th

If you are still at 1080p/60Hz (like most people are) the 1070 is really overkill, as i think it is more suited for a 1440/60 or 1080/144 display. All the midrange cards (GTX 1060, RX470/RX480, GTX 970 etc.) are sufficient imo for standard 1080p.

A lot depends on how good your onboard sound chip is. Some (usually expensive) mobos have really good ones. I have a Soundblaster Z and the difference between this and my onboard sound is night and day. Soo, yes i'd say getting a sound card if you don't have a decent onboard chip is totally...

My issues with the K70 wasn't just with the sound: 1) I hated the way it looked. I guess i am not a fan of brushed aluminium and that thick inflexible cord was cancer. Corsair has a dated industrial aesthetic for a lot of its products, which i am not fond of. I couldn't get the mental image of...

The K70 is rather loud (and annoying to me) whether it's reds or browns. Couldn't stomach it and returned it after a week. As a stopgap i got a '16 Blackwidow Stealth, its switches are CLEARLY not as good as Cherry ones, but i like its inoffensive simple design and it gets the job pleasantly...
