Baldur's Gate 3 by Larian Games

Warlocks are only sort of nukers, they are really more like archers, their spells are just a bonus to the core combo of hex + eldritch blast. If you want the big aoe deeps it's easy enough to multiclass them after a few levels of warlock to sorcerer. That way you get the big booms and when they...

Just the instruments as far as I can tell - you get 3 songs you can do, and they play those songs on whatever instrument you have equipped. I only have a drum and a violin at the moment, drum is kinda basic, but the violin music is pretty good.

Tactician is no joke, I got game-overed by the first fight outside the tutorial. Man, I have gotten like absolutely nowhere in the first 5 hours. I spent ages in character creation, played through the tutorial, then decided my character portrait was bugging me ( female drow looked like a dude...

Zom is good stuff. The scene where they all raise a toast and then head back to the office hit hard. There's definitely some personal experience in shitty companies going into this one 8) I like Seven Spellblades as well, I am not even sure what it is about, but it's certainly very pretty...

Noooo, magical secrets has a pre-approved list of spells that doesn't include any ranger/paladin spells. How are bards supposed to make fun of hapless rangers like this ? I suppose it's one way to make balance easier though.

Yep, not because I am good, but because I embrace the pain. Also, you don't really get a good feel from the fun toys available when you can just bitchslap the enemies into next week with normal melee attacks.

    Secret Invasion

Huh, I stand corrected. I've even watched most of them. You know, I think Secret Invasion *is* the worst of those actually. I haven't seen the werewolf one, but FAWS had movie tier action sequences, She Hulk was funny-ish, Loki was just good, Wandavision tried something different and it mostly...

    Secret Invasion

IMO it was pretty meh, not actively bad. That is a super hedged headline though - 'worst disney+ MCU show' isn't a very controversial label given there's only been, what, 5 of them ? It's like breathlessly claiming that the latest transformers movie is the worst transformers movie in history.

    Roguelite Enemy Hell/Bullet Heaven/Survivor catch-all

The three I liked the most in that kind of style are: Across the Obelisk Tainted Grail Monster Train ATO is party based version of the same thing, with better RNG hedging due to shops and starting loadouts. May be a bit overwhelming at first, but my favorite by far. Supports co-op if that is...

    Good Omens

In fairness, while there is no relationship between them, Aziraphale's description in the book is literally that he gave the impression that 'he was gayer than a treeful of monkeys on nitrous oxides', so it's not like there's no background for that.

    Starfield - Fallout fallout that isn't ES6

The PVP in DAoC did seem to get pretty personal - one of my friends was such an epic troll ganker that he managed to completely derail wars just by showing up - three quarters of the enemy forces would immediately forget what they were doing and chase after him. Stealth was probably a bit too...

Fucking mines, that shithole country is at least 50% mines by surface area, hah. You definitely need an explosives expert in any party - apart from the mines there are so many IEDs on loot.

I actually did some research on how they implemented it, and apparently in BG3 you don't even need crossbow expert, you can just inherently reload hand crossbows even if you are dual wielding ( and the game has hand crossbows in it, which always helps ), so you don't need variant human, and can...

    Foundation

No, Foundation is more like a history book than a linear story - it jumps between different important things that were hundreds or thousands of years apart. The show is just trying to make that work while keeping the same characters, so you get increasingly implausible reasons why they are...

Baldur's Gate 3 by Larian Games

Depending on how they implement crossbow mastery and itemization you can do some pretty dumb shit with valor bards and range attacks. 5E clerics are pretty much tank-mages too, even without sketchy powergamer builds. They have some pretty sick cantrips, including aoe.

    Gen V

Eh, it might be good, but The Boys works mostly on the strength of Butcher and Homelander IMO - the odds of them getting that lucky with casting again are not great. Also no source material is a bit of a red flag.

Baldur's Gate 3 by Larian Games

Sort of - rather than being a gimped caster of general spells, they are a full caster of 'bard' spells. The bard spells are a cross section from different classes, mostly sound related, and exclude all the heavy hitters. Lore bards get to pick 2 spells from any class though, so there are some...

    Jagged Alliance 3

That still mostly works, especially on normal - I restarted on commando with the above team after soloing the first island with Blood. Though as Burns pointed out - it's not a sure thing, particularly because some maps are very cramped, with poor sightlines. Think house to house fighting type...

    Jagged Alliance 3

So, about halfway through this now I think. Thumbs up - it's JA2 but with modern graphics, solid voice acting and some improvements that don't change the flow of the game at all. The early game is a bit different - you can end up with a pretty competent and reasonably equipped starting team...

Baldur's Gate 3 by Larian Games

I cut all the irrelevant stuff that no-one has changed or is talking about changing. This bit though - that's not how ability checks work. 15 strength is a +2 modifer, and 17 is a +3. For it to be impossible for the halfling, it would need to be a strength check with DC23, which your...

Ima stop you right there and challenge you to come up with a single story element that relies on, say, a halfling player character only having 15 strength instead of 17. Or, to follow 5E more closely, a story element that is ruined by the PC having an 80% chance to pass a strength check vs...

    Jagged Alliance 3

This is pretty good fun. Steroid may be kinda shit, but he's comedy gold. Blood seems just as overpowered as he always was. I'm kind of torn on what to do for a custom merc, you kind of want the min-max, but the existing mercs are already better min-maxed that you can make.

    Genshin Impact

On the one hand, genshin includes every greedy money grubbing mechanic you can fit in a game, on the other hand, it's actually a pretty good game apart from that. There's an awful lot of gameplay that isn't thinly veiled illegal gambling, almost all of which is 100% accessible to the starter...

Fair MTX Models in free to play games

As far as I am concerned, any random cash element is out. The main reason is that the argument that 'It's not gambling if the house always wins and the suckers can never cash out' is cynical bullshit that is believed by absolutely no-one and is laughably weak cover for otherwise illegal...
