Wildstar Launch Thread - Server: Stormtalon | Faction: Dominion

How can people be so serious about $15/month, anyway? It's practically no money. People talk about subscription games as if it's some huge economic obstacle that not everyone is capable of sustaining. If you have a gaming PC and an internet connection, you can afford $15/month for what probably...

    EQMac Now Free to Play

Huh... I got it to work, but it has the old classic UI, like the actual one, and I can't seem to change this. This was definitely not the case a few months ago...

    EQMac Now Free to Play

Yeah, I've tried all of that. I had it working a few months ago but deleted it. I've checked that the WSOCK32.dll is there, and I've both made an exception for it in my antivirus program and tried turning the av off entirely just to be sure.

    EQMac Now Free to Play

Yes and I did. Fresh install of titanium, copy-pasted the eqmac resources and secrets patch over, and it won't log in. It'll give me the server select and everything, but if I click play, it loads for a few seconds and crashes.

    EQMac Now Free to Play

I've had it working before on this same computer. Decided to try it out again today, downloaded and installed it, but now it gives me an error when I try to log onto the actual server. I can get to server select just fine, but no further. It just says some nonsense about memory instruction...

Server is utter garbage and run by incompetent, unintelligent EQ-newbies. What did you expect?

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Hey, these days I'm ready to trust any MMORPG that isn't trying to do that F2P "open beta" pay-for-everything bullshit that the industry is currently self-destructing over.

    EQ Classic? Not really.

It pretty much just allowed you to temporarily do DPS with a bow that was similar to your basic melee DPS, with the obvious advantage of being ranged. People used it more out of a desire to utilize an iconic class feature than for any particular purpose. Archery was the only way for rangers to...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Guessing he means a game that's widely regarded as excellent and actually grows in popularity. Has there been an MMORPG since WoW that has become more succesful post-release as opposed to these constant nosedives? Unfortunately, I think developers have simply discovered that it's more profitable...

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

I've come to realize that people just hate being aware that they're not at the top rung of a game's proverbial society. The existence of higher content that they can't access makes them feel inferior, to the point where they'll literally prefer a game that's the same except the higher content...

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

In all likelihood this is Cox' fault and has nothing whatsoever to do with WoW or Blizzard. There was a similar problem with 3mobile last year: they suddenly started to throttle all connections to WoW after like 6pm, giving you like 2000ms latency. A lot of people had been using 3 to play WoW...

    EQ - The Sleeper

At least Kegz is consistent. His response to criticism is always "you don't play on the server and also you're a troll." Kegz, your server ranks up there as one of the biggest failures in eqemu history. Aside from your personal incompetence, one of the main problems seem to be that your beta...

    EQ Classic? Not really.

Considering the fact that it took EQC five fucking years to even begin talking about alpha testing, I imagine P99 won't even exist by the time it's finished. The question is whether any of us will be alive by then.

    Neverwinter: PC

You should always try a game for yourself before you listen to internet strangers, but don't expect to be amazed. Neverwinter leaves a decent very first impression, but scratch the surface anywhere and it's plywood underneath. It's clear that it's designed after Perfect World's formula (and a...

Oh no, you got banned from quite possibly the worst emulated server ever released. Why were you even playing it in the first place?

    Neverwinter: PC

This is such a discount product, hah. Just saw a "definatley" in one of those mid-screen quest text pop-ups, and it wasn't in player-created content. It may seem small, but it's shit like this that really tells me something about the people who made the game. If not even your quest writers can...

    EQ - The Sleeper

To Kegz, all criticism is trolling. It's part of why people have stopped even trying to be constructive and now just insult him and his hilariously terrible server. If this was the best you could do in two years of development, there is no hope. The Sleeper is seriously a candidate for worst...

    Neverwinter: PC

It has some communal zones, but the game is at least 75% instanced. The open zones are more like the outdoor Everquest "dungeons" like Crushbone than actual open terrain zones. The game is pretty much 100% on rails. I don't think it actually has anything like West Karana or Azshara where you can...

    Neverwinter: PC

All the foundry dungeons I've tried so far have been absolutely terrible because, you know, they're designed by random people who have never been so much as distantly related to a professional content designer. Every foundry dungeon so far has been your typical amateur experiment slapped...

    Neverwinter: PC

The gameplay is fun but the game is thinly-veiled pay2win. While there isn't gear for $ale that's better than what you can get through in-game means, it takes an absolutely retarded amount of time to get anything the traditional way. We're talking weeks of grinding for an item. You can't even...

    Neverwinter: PC

Are you kidding? It's mentioned by pretty much everybody as one of the top three reasons the game failed. Even so, D3 is not an MMORPG, but it has survived exclusively by being a Blizzard game that a lot of fans waited years and years for. The RMAH is widely regarded as its downfall, and is what...

    Neverwinter: PC

Apparently you can buy endgame purples with the cash-bought currency. RIP Neverwinter. I'll try the game, but if you really can mastercard the best gear, I can guarantee that this game will be dead before August. Why do developers insist on pulling this sort of shit? If they can't make money off...

    Neverwinter: PC

The cash shop is far from purely cosmetic. You can apparently use the cash-bought currency for just about anything, first of all, so it's basically buying gold. Secondly, it appears that outside of a select few quests, the only way to get bags is to buy them with said currency. You can also buy...

    EQ - The Sleeper

Getting PMs from Kegz calling me a troll. That's his reaction to everything. On the server's forum, he responds to criticism with random accusations such as "you don't even play." No server was ever going to succeed under this guy.

    EQ - The Sleeper

From Kegz' OP: LMFAO Joke of the year. This server is the polar opposite of what he advertised. Let's go through it, in fact: This system literally doesn't exist. They haven't worked on anything of the sort. When asked in late beta, Kegz revealed that nothing had been prepared or even...

    EQ Classic? Not really.

I love how pretentious and arrogant the EQC people always are towards EQEmu servers, especially considering the fact that the servers they speak so condescendingly of are at least open and playable. They try to speak from some kind of moral high ground when they're they're the ones who have...

    EQ - The Sleeper

This is a candidate for worst serious attempt at making an EQEmu server ever. There have been worse servers, but they were the ones randomly set up by one guy. Of all servers with an actual development team, beta phase etc., this is by far the most pitiful effort. Nothing works. There's...
