Big crates can also give you lvl 20 greens. I'd say (going off memory) about 1/5 of the greens i get from big crates can be DEd into draenor dust. Got a lvl 70 epic druid staff though!

I don't get many of the armor/weapon sets, but in case I do, I focus on using the upgrades on a single follower at a time (up until 615 for now), that way if I do get a weapon or armor set, I have followers that can use them, but still brute force my followers ilvl as well.

^ looks like you can get almost 1k if you team up with someone that has the other outpost. Outpost is required to open the area, but anyone can loot.

Yeah, you don't need either profession for picking in your own garrison.
