The movie doesn't have to have a redemption arc. Anakin didn't get redeemed in the prequel trilogy, in fact he went super evil. This trilogy could be about the conflict between Ren/First Order and the Resistance ending with one side biting it. I will be disappointed if we get another bad guy...
