So your post got me thinking so I started mathing it out. So our 7 month old baby also pretty much sleeps 12 hours (6:30pm to 6:30am) plus naps 2 hours a day which means she is awake and requires at least one of us to be supervising her 70 hours a week. 40 of those hours are spent with me at...

    MLB 2015 Season

Actually I would say the opposite, if a player truly is clutch you really shouldn't notice he's clutch, you should just think he is consistent. These guys basically don't exist. Over the course of a career just about every single player will closely match their total career averages in these...

    MLB 2015 Season

"Clutch" hitting is a controversial subject and there is some pretty good evidence out there that it might not exist (or if it does, it doesn't matter as much as we think it does). Here is a pretty good write upon the issues which includes links to some of the research that has been done on the...

    Interstellar (2014)

Out of curiosity how often do you guys re-watch a movie? Outside of a few exceptions I hardly ever re-watch a movie. On Interstellar, you can put me in the "mildly amused" category. I didn't hate it and I was glad to see and actual Sci-Fi flick that wasn't just an action flick with a...

    The Netflix Thread

I'm starting to slowly work my way through this list. Will skip a few that I've either seen or just have zero interest in. Started at the top with Your Sister's Sister. Wasn't bad, agree with the article writer about the acting, but it really felt like there was only like 2/3rds of a movie...

Yeah, you won't be getting any downtime once the baby comes either. I know most guys want to take advantage of these last "baby free" days but the reality is that time was over as soon as you saw the + on the stick.

    Better Call Saul

Another great episode. Looks like I was in the ballpark of how things were going down. One observation I made completely unrelated to the show is I wonder what the experience would be like for someone who hasn't ever watched BB to watch BCS first then start BB? Assuming you can avoid spoilers...

On the card swipes, 2.4% for a flat rate isn't too terrible but I think you are correct in thinking you could do better with an interchange-plus program instead. Thing that I hate about dealing with merchant processors is that it is nearly impossible to decipher what your actual charges will be...

That was a pretty interesting read. I generally like Jim Koch but he can be a control freak sometimes. Stomping back into the walk-in of a random bar to check exp. dates on kegs? I throw mine in the oven cold and let it cook during the pre-heating. Generally it is about 20 minutes from oven-on to crispy-bacon and completely hands off. Use the time in between to prepare or cook whatever I'm covering in delicious bacon (salad, other breakfast foods, etc).

    Retail Point of Sale systems

Unfortunately most of the ones I'm familiar with are geared towards restaurants, not retail. So I don't have any specific recommendations off hand but I'll ask around to some people I know in retail. I love the pepper-bacon, but my wife loves the various smoked stuff. She does most of the shopping and holds veto powers over me. I'm addicted to Kalamata olives from Costco so I have a ton of the jars they come in laying around and is my general grease storage container.

Yeah, the self clean feature on the oven takes care of it, and honestly I haven't noticed much more grease splatter with bacon than I get when roasting other meats. Better Call Saul

When I say Chuck is a "scumbag" lawyer I don't mean in the same sense that Saul is/will become. I meant more along the lines of the "all lawyers are scumbags" type of thing. Jimmy will learn the hard way that Chuck really only cares about himself/his-firm/getting-his-money/his-ego or a...

Just watched the last episode. I am not very happy at all that they aren't going to be expanding replays (beyond some clock stuff). They say it is because they only want objectively reviewable plays to be allowed, not calls that are up to the subjectivity of the ref. How many times have we seen a flag thrown for a...

Looks like Schell's is in the 100-200k range in bbl production (~125k in '13).
