There are several people planning to do this as a way to say they hate FTE. IMO they will suspend people caught doing this like holding NPCs hostage and locked. They should go pretty hard with 30 day suspensions early on of players caught doing this to stop it before it gets started.

It would make a lot of sense to just disable it inside DZs since it could be exploited alot easier there. OW on the other hand could be interesting. You could park your CH rotation under Yelinak outside of the FTE raid and never take an AE, or get aggro or take a faction hit.

Not sure the encounter locking will be nearly as big of a deal as people think.

I get the feeling they really really want to try the system they announced though since they put a lot of effort into it already. If they just change the server to FV loot and left the encounter locking I think most people would just accept it at that point.

The basic consensus seems to be Legacy chars - Neutral Server wide bonuses - Positive Encounter locking - Mixed leaning negative

This is one reason I wish they would do 2 TLPs a year separated by about 6 months apart. This way they dont have to worry so much about rulesets as long as they are not terrible aka Vaniki.

Any pvp ruleset would have been far worse... This server will be more popular than Yelinak but less than Mischief. I suspect the event locking may be scraped before launch BUT I get the sense they are really happy about it and want to try it.

This is why they should not have done FV rule sets ever... every server will suck compared to it and its like getting someone off crack almost impossible. Its going to take years to get people to forget about Mischief.

Mischief has got to be the most exploited server in a long time. Plate dupe, item dupes, raid loot exploits, raid currency exploits.

Every had sex with the same person over and over and over... Ya its not as good as it used to be but its still good....

The duper is normally easy to spot. They are the person buying krono always 20k over everyone else all the time. If you report that person a few times, a GM will eventually track down where the plat is coming from an ban their accounts. You have to explain in the report that they need to track...

People generally dont horde plat as they know its a depreciating asset. So normally large sums of plat don't enter the system like this naturally. Its possible the plat duper who had their accounts banned with the plat they duped on them got them back somehow, or the dupe/exploit is back.

There have been signs of an active plate dupe or exploit on Yelinak for a few months now. I have not been tracking mischief though.

They need to go ahead and announce it so people can tell them how much they hate it and they can change it.

I am not 100% sure but I suspect its just a ranking system based on unique logins. They seem to like to just count unique logins for a server on a given day. I do know that Yelinak and Mischief have average about 1300 a night for the past 6 months, Vaniki about 200 a night.

POP is the most popular expansion after release by far. I think its more a lesson of why you should never split servers.

Not likely, but I can tell you what is most likely. Devs hate TLPs, they are boring to them. But the devs that worked on vaniki saw it as something interesting and non boring. So now they are convienced that it was a great idea and want to force it on normal tlps so its interesting to them...

Way I see it with that data is they have 2 base options for the new tlp. - Mischief copy with a small twist (maybe all loot attunable?) - Yelinak copy with a small twist (maybe no flagging?)
