Frostbolt + Ice Nova is ridiculously strong once geared. I played it last league and had a lot of fun with it. There is a pretty in depth guide that details the interaction between CoC, frostbolt, and ice nova in the shadow forums.

A few newer CoC guides out there state frostbolt does proc ice Nova twice, but that gem order does matter. There is one guide in the Scion forums where he gives an explanation after he tested it.

If you wouldn't play the elementalist again I'd just spend the regrets. Figure the time involved getting to 88 again vs currency you could make in that time as a level 88 and you should come out ahead just spending the regrets.

That is quite a bit better. Now dump the Mana flask for a silver flask so you can have onslaught and get used to having Quicksilver+diamond+silver always going. You should be clearing fast enough to have all three going pretty much the whole map.

I ran that towards the end of last league and it is definitely good. It was slightly slower for map clear than arc totems, but a lot faster for boss kills.
