    Diablo 4 / IV / IIII / Fore / Cope / Seethe

I mean, you have me at D2+, but you'd lose me at paywalls and microtrans. I'd love a D2 spiritual successor, but that shit ruins games for me.

    Diablo 4 / IV / IIII / Fore / Cope / Seethe

Checked out this thread many months ago and lots of people seemed down on D4, so I have been ignoring this thread... BUT it's coming out tomorrow and I am kind of hard up for a good game. BG3 isn't out until August. So what's the consensus? This thing worth whatever it is they charge these...

    The Diplomat - Netflix

Finished S01. Liked it a lot. Story is interesting, writing is good. I wanted to binge it, which is always a good sign. Little bit of "girl power" stuff, but like others have mentioned it's not egregious and doesn't detract from the story. I actually think Keri Russell is wrong for the...

NM, think I figured it out. Generated some pieces straight from my upcoming campaign- not bad! Much better than the last time I attempted this.

    Writers Guild Strike 2023

This is a good example of competent but bad writing. There's technically nothing wrong with it, but it's generic and boring af. An actual writer would have to do a lot of work to make this remotely watchable.

    Writers Guild Strike 2023

AI isn't going to be able replace quality creative artists- including writers. It will replace the ones who produce stale, rote, iterative content, which is ok with me. For talented artists, AI will be (and already is) a valuable tool to help generate ideas and push past writer's block...

    The D&D thread

I take a much more streamlined approach. For anyone new wanting to play in one of the campaigns I run, I say "Hey, just FYI, I run dark and gritty R rated games. You ok with that?" That's it. I never really find anything more than that is needed. Adults shouldn't need anything other than...

Lol @doge. When you log onto Twitter now there's a pic of the doge shib front and center. Up 22ish%. Glad i held on to the 5k or so doge I've kept lying around. Ofc I'm nor sure if this is bullish for doge or it just signifies the end of twitter. Where's @Izo - aren't you a doge holder?

    Bitcoins/Litecoins/Virtual Currencies

Yeah I don't think enough of the global economies will. You have to think economic power rather than just raw population numbers. The easy majority of the world's economic powers are Western. That's actually what makes me kind of bullish for BTC becoming the world's reserve currency. There's...

Yeah I'm no geopolitical expert but I have a hard time believing the Western world would trust China and Russia to manage a global currency standard.

Yes, that's why I made sure to add "unwise" in addition to "shady." Crypto is definitely the shadiest of the shady, but don't think there isn't quite a bit of shady stuff going on with normal banks too. The deeper they dig (assuming they dig), the worse it will get.

    Bitcoins/Litecoins/Virtual Currencies

Or both! At this point, it's pretty clear most (or all) of U.S. financial institutions have been doing shady/unwise things. Edit: It's funny, both Fox and CNN recently did eerily similar segments on the weakening of the USD and the financial threat from a China/Russia/Iran/Saudi Arabia. Just...

    Bitcoins/Litecoins/Virtual Currencies

Really puts it into perspective how shitty USD is compared to something like BTC. BTC is superior in every way but utility. I think that's why mass adoption and increased utility for BTC is such a terrifying concept to the Fed.
  27. Arden

    Bitcoins/Litecoins/Virtual Currencies

Right, certain currency issues aren't ever going away. But the fact that a government can't simply print more BTC when they want to gives BTC an innate advantage over USD. That and its inherently deflationary nature.

    Bitcoins/Litecoins/Virtual Currencies

I actually agree with you that it's really unlikely we will ever get to the point where we are ditching 3rd party custodians or transaction facilitators in the currency markets. But banks aren't the entire problem, they are only part of the problem. The other part of the currency problem is...

Probably true. That's why I said "feels like." I hate buying on the back of a big gain, but I have zero doubt we will get back above 60k, so (like you said) buying at 28k isn't chasing.

Buying on the back of a 26% gain in 8 days sure feels like chasing. Buying now feels like you're late to the party. You should have bought 7 days ago. But who the hell knows? It could go up 200% in the next month. Normal rules don't exactly apply in these times...
