    The Elder Scrolls Online

Well, there are fanboys for most titles.. Even Vanguard has <had?> diehards. The game is solid. My biggest factor right now is the weather. If this game had come out in October of last year here in Ohio I'd be playing the heck out of it. It was 65 last night. By the time I got inside it was...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

This is a very different game than EQ. Healing isn't the same setup at all. Anyways, Torpor was Shaman, not Paladin dude.. Any class can wear any armor and use any weapon. The class/skill system in my opinion is the best part of the game, besides the PVP. I'm only level 20. I'm on...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

The entire endgame is a huge open world PVP area between three factions. The game is closer to DAOC than anything else, really.

    The Elder Scrolls Online

My understanding is healing is an option and the designers don't want people just looking at grid or cast bars doing old school healing. My hope is at 50 it's more Blood Mage'ish. I like the idea, but so far in my groups healing has been tough to figure out, although I'm just using a Resto...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Because the genre and design can't hold my attention the way it did 15 or even 10 years ago. The games have gotten better but my interest level at my current age isn't nearly the same as it was in my 20s. There were no good old days of UO. The game was great for it's time but so anti social...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Same as yours, except yours is based on a 10 year old game that looks and plays it, and relies more on reputation and fanboys than actual content. Mine is a new boring game with better mechanics, at least.

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

The comedy is Reaper of Souls is probably the only reason I'm still playing TESO. Rotating keeps both from being boring to me.

    The Elder Scrolls Online

If you are talking accounts, yeah WOW will remain top dog. If you are talking overall MMO, TESO is better by most measurements except subs, old school combat, and raids. Graphics, Class Design, PVP, and world are far, far better in TESO. WOW is selling based on it's name more than anything fun...

Sorcerer with 2H and Cleave is a beast to level. 1H and Shield I thought in beta was limited as I was mostly soloing and doing group things. At 18 I rotate between Staff, Bow, and Dual Wield.

    Dark Souls 2

The Dragons and Dragon Shine area was just great fun. it was challenging, but not masochistic like Blighttown or the Undead Tomb. I've gotten 30 minutes into NG+ and pretty much stopped playing due to time and other games. I imagine I'll pick it up once TESO or D3 starts gets old. I've...

Yeah, I'm a Sorcerer in AD. Name is Rondel. I have yet to have a single crash. I have had a very few lag hiccups, but most of the time things have been smooth.

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Not fully, but I'm playing around with it some. I only have 2 skill points in it, mainly for Wall of Elements. So far I have skill points in Dual Wield, Destro, and Bow. I love swapping weapons out and guild abilities as it keeps things fresh. The more I play, the more I really like the...

    Dark Souls 2

Really, if one does not wish to be invaded, one can go offline. Anyways, I had a time where I was chain invaded and disco'ed a bunch of people.. No issues, no problems, and I could still summon or be summoned so I think you have to massively abuse this. The problem also is Dark Souls for...

    Dark Souls 2

You can logout of PSN anytime. Anyways, I'm crappy at PVP and I'm going about 50% in fights. It's light in this game, and really doesn't add much. It's just a really poor duel mechanic. I do agree with whomever said all the risk is on the invadee, though. It'd be nice if the invader lost his...

Shroud Of The Avatar - Shit Went Persistent

I still have my original disks and my Apple IIe from the early 80s. That was my first computer when I was really young, before Windows even existed. The early Ultima games were revolutionary, but as much fun as I had in UO, I really enjoyed EQ more. /geezer alert.... I'm a Garriot fan...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

The only thing I look up are Skyshards, because they are so easy to miss and so relevant early on. I'm not sure what you mean about depth. I've found the game is fluffy with plenty of superficial content, but very little I'd call deep. There is a ton of 'small ball' things to do, but to me...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

No bugs at all here. Really, I was griping about level speed before but it's picked up. I have about 18 hours in and I'm level 16. This is with a iot of AFKing, screwing around, staring at where to allocate skill points, and farming Skyshards. My big problem is I just can't play hours and...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

UI in Skyrim was worse by far.. even modded. I blame the console peasants. That said I do find I'm looking at the world more and the text window less which is nice. Side note.. I went into Cyrodil yesterday AM and I saw a guy who was level 14 when I was 15... I came back and he was in the...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Based on what I've read, this is not a man in the middle attack or even bug, but simply dupe database entries or missing proper entity relationships. If I had to hypothetically guess, I'd say their beta/early release DB and prod DB overlapped resulting in bad keys, or worse they tried to roll...

We'll see how the PVP is in a few weeks, as well as the group combat. I'm interested, too and I'm playing. Why not join the fun? This might be the last western MMO released.. Your last chance for something that isn't shiny and stylized...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

They aren't using Hero Engine for the 500th time. The fact they got a deal to license it for early alpha by putting its emblem on their game means nothing. Leveling is slow as fuck. Maybe I've just been spoiled by other games. My bar crawls and kills seem to give little or nothing.

    The Elder Scrolls Online

First day, no issues. Most of the areas I played in were fairly loaded with people, too. Combat is still meh, but I'm satisfied they have so far fixed the phasing and quest bugs. It seems leveling is slower, but that just might be since I don't have the patience to play more than a few hours...

Targetting is fine. I have yet to hit a bugged quest yet. Not doing groups yet.. can't answer. I was chatting with an Aussies with a 100 ms ping.. He was cool with it. I'm online in AD as Rondel, if anyone cares to chat or group. Level 7 so far.

    Dark Souls 2

Lion Greatsword infused with Dark is now my personal fav weapon. Rocks in PVP, does very good damage against bosses without being too slow, and rocks normal mobs nicely. I started NG+ but couldn't get too much into it. I'll take a break for TESO then play some more, or make an alt. I'm happy...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Churn in MMOs is inevitable. The best way to combat it is to add content, drum up interest, and find hooks to keep players interested.. That, or to be Blizzard... SWTOR might be a good model for TESO after a few months. Offer limited free to play, but gate the really fun stuff behind a sub...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Given your post history, I'm pretty surprised you've bought the game. You seemed pretty negative. I want to play the game, but I'm almost ambivalent at this point in time. This is the most unexcited I think I've ever been for a game release. However, I've finished Dark Souls 2, I'm bored of...

Here's where I'd say you were dead wrong and WOW and subsequently Wildstar's target demo is a much younger crowd and it's toony graphics are more aimed for younger players... Except almost everyone I know who still plays WOW is 35+ and most of the under 30s aren't into it. I do think TESO is...

Well, D3 also is much, much smaller game with very limited areas and far fewer objects, just linked together via relational means. The only part of D3 that really was mega was the AH, and it's going away. In regards to preorders, I'd guess 90% are going to be digital. Total guess, though.

    The Elder Scrolls Online

I don't recall seeing any of that when I played, although granted I only made it to level 15. I actually don't mind the setup and I'm happy not to play the UI game, as the world is gorgeouss and the game is fun to me, but I can see where they need to find middle ground.

Wildstar Launch Thread - Server: Stormtalon | Faction: Dominion

Their target audience really was never in doubt. They are wisely looking at alternative ways to get cash and leveraging things that they'll need if they don't get a good enough chunk of WOW sub people. Diku people come and go. Zynga purchases like this always have an appeal to some. Exp bonus...

This is kind of why I'm on the fence about my preorder. I'm sure some PTS people have some wonderful surprises they didn't bother to tell ZOS about. Incoming rollback due to Bob the Barbarian having 2 billion gold spread across the Megaserver due to the Shared Bank split sales exploit.

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Same here. I'm on the fence with this guy, really. I keep going back and forth. The AH complaints really are much ado about nothing. Really, as a group who gripe about 'community', I am amused at something that would do much to promote that is scorned so heavily. I'm more interested in...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Actually, an overflow is one of the few things about this megaserver setup that makes complete sense. The bigger question is will it work with their phasing and backend office support for theor game. It sure didn't for the last two betas.
