I honestly don't think so. I was in the Alpha as well as have a legacy account from purchasing it at release and I haven't received a thing. I'm not 100% sure if that stuff qualifies me for beta as well because I'm not dying to get in but I thought I read somewhere it should.

FFXI really nailed music as well. I can still play most of the songs in my head and I normally don't pay attention to game music. EQ did the same. Only music I recall in wow for example is Durotar and Orgrimmar. Stormwind as well but more because it assaulted you upon entry.

I'm not near 80 yet so my gearing options are still pretty limited but I doubt it will be too long. I know you did a lot of research into mesmers Draegan, did you come across anything similar for them? I'm still working my way through the PRX thread. Unless there a huge reason not to my goal...

Honestly I just bought some gems to craft my mesmer up a bit and I don't regret it at all. I went to 400 in artificer, tailor, JC, and armorsmithing. If the PVE begins to wear on me I will probably do the other professions as well. You can legally convert gems to gold within the trading post...

I agree. While I didn't play the beta, I did play 1.0, and even with a PS3 controller because I dug it in FFXI. The game just felt like it had no real cohesion. Vanguard felt more complete. FFXIV 1.0 just felt like a test bed for failed ideas at launch.
