My pick is Shaman of the Great Hunt. The guy is currently $4-$6 but I can see him easily going up to $15. With the addition of Flamewake Phoenix and this guy you can make a G/R deck where virtually every creature is attacking for damage in some form the turn it comes into play. Plus, even if...

When I was speaking of the white mythics being overpriced I was referring to the fact that I don't think they will see as much play as people think they will. Of course preorder prices are high, they almost always are.

Picking up a bit on the conversation earlier. I honestly think Soulfire Grandmaster and Monastery Mentor are actually way overpriced. I expect them to both see play, but not as much as people are predicting. In any kind of aggro deck, Seeker of the Way is better than Soulfire Grandmaster, and...

Went 6-2 in a PTQ today with a slightly modified Abzan Aggro list. Was mostly pleasant except for one round where I played someone that was the bad kind of spike. The kind that can top eight PTQs but isn't actually all that good. After he won game one off of a particularly grindy game he...

The Sultai dragon also has synergy with Crux of Fate. The downside is, this means that U/B is likely going to be a good deck (it was tier 1.5?). This is bad because the deck is not fun to play against and most people who play it, hate it too.

Archfiend of Depravity will likely find its way into my Sidisi whip list with all these token shenanigans. I also expect Doomwake Giant to cost even more on MTGO.

Dragon Age: Inquisition (Plot Details in Spoilers!)

Finally managed to beat the game. The post-credits scene was "wtf" until I read the article on Kotaku that explained things. Several of the scenes and story missions in the game have taken on a completely new meaning now. The only thing I wish was that the last story mission was more Mass...

Dragon Age: Inquisition (Plot Details in Spoilers!)

The PC version is fine outside of it crashing about 10 times over the 70 hours I've played so far. I can't comment on the co trols because I've been using an Xbox controller on the PC, but the controller is actually pretty good.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014)

The movie itself was pretty good. The final battle was what? An hour and a half long and it was well paced and didn't seem to drag. All that said, even with the additions that were made from The Return of the King's appendix, this still probably could have been two movies. My verdict: The Hobbit...

You don't need to keep shuffler code secret because it is a well known algorithm. That they screwed up the offline implementation doesn't bode well for the server side one since my first thought as a developer would be to copy and paste that What is everyone's thoughts about the current...

I'll be there for the Open. Unfortunately Tacoma is like 45 minutes out of Seattle proper so I don't know the area too well but do know there are some chain restaurants near the convention center, and the convention center will have food available (chicken fingers, fries, hot dogs, etc.) I...

IIRC Vaan and Penelo were added later in development and were meant to be standins for the player on the adventure. Because of that, they weren't very memorable and actually detracted from the story a bit.

Is it just me or does Ashcloud Phoenix seem really good? Fits in both aggressive and more controlling shells. Can even do things like Phoenix into End Hostilities. Beyond that I am keeping an eye on a mono-white devotion shell. Gerry Thompson posted a version earlier today on StarCityGames...

All of the delve cards and the Sultai enablers seem too slow to me. I also don't think standard is going to be as dominated by Courser and Caryatid as you guys think. It is very easy to go wide on them with a token deck and it seems that tokens are being pushed hard with Mardu. We still need to...

I am fine with control not having a four mana sweeper. With things like Anger of the Gods, Aetherspouts, and Fated Retribution plus whatever Khans may have, it just means control players will have to spend more time tailoring their decks to the given metagame.

Once we get into spoiler season it'll be fun to test new brews on xmage. Rotation will be nice since most of the annoying cards outside of Thoughtseize are rotating. If I can't find something spicy before the new FNM I'll probably fall back on Naya Walkers since almost none of its cards are...

The damage you take is irrelevant so long as you win the game before your opponent does. In the case of aggro this means running Painlands, Shocklands, and Mana Confluence over temples. This is the same reason why aggro decks sometimes run Eidolon of the Great Revel. Yes it will do a lot of...

I did the math and the $300 one isa bit weird, you pretty much have to play Magic the whole con to get close. At the same time the "surprise" perk might put it over the top. I'll likely end up doing it since most of the important PAX panels are streamed anyway and I want to play games. In...

The high price of fetchlands did not catch WotC by surprise. Fetchlands were already above the price threshold for a reprint. What caught WotC by surprise is the spike after GP Richmond. The most compelling reason for a fetchland reprint is that WotC needs a hit set after the cool reception that...

And until WotC actually pays their devs $100k a year (going market rate in Seattle) it'll still be shit. MTGO is a whole different beast due to the efficiency of the market and how fast prices change. If I were to do speculation it would be there.
