Been reading some of the reviews in effort to reconcile my rather sour opinion of the game with the effusive critical praise this seems to be getting. A lot of them are saying it gets waaaaaaaaaay better. I'm only like an hour in, so I guess I'll keep going.

I got 80% just by beating it and reverting to prior saves via cloud and beating it two more times for all three endings. The only trophy that really takes an appreciable amount of time is the one that requires you to beat like 5 chalice dungeons and defeat some boss there. Never did that one.

Yeah, levels mean significantly more in this game than in the Souls games. I definitely noticed mitigating more if I saved up enough souls to level several times.
