I hear you, he isn't gonna get 3x Annhilation and Vestures cheap though. Sounds like he is looking for a budget deck. I myself am running a 2 red 3 black, hero killer/gold deck as well. 3 Vestures + 3 Blink by turn 3 = GG. Annhilation/Payday/Mobility is a nice combo, just not sure it outplays...

I wouldn't recommend Blue/Black. Hero's are way too squishy and not a whole lot of deck synergy in general. He shows a pretty solid pauper deck at around the 26 minute mark.

I suspected as much myself, just going off of what the entire majority are saying. Either way, without a ladder system, it's easy to see how draft would be the more fun mode of play for me personally.

Nah, they are wiped. I was speaking mainly in terms of experience in Draft if that is what you are referencing. Pretty sure Alpha build had all cards playable freely for everyone.

NDA lifted today, a ton of streams up. As it stands now, only way to play draft is to pay ($1 per ticket basically). Might not be a huge deal IF draft wasn't the main mode. Also further divides the alpha players who basically had like 7 months of free draft. Gonna be pretty interesting to see...

NDA lifts next weekend and a few all day twitch events will be going on hosted by the "pro" beta players. Had the 10k tourny on in the background most of the weekend and it can get pretty complex. Echoing what others have said about the Avatar books (starts with Shadowdale). They were the first books I ever voluntarily read and really opened my eyes into the high fantasy genre as a kid. Highly recommend if you like Forgotten Realms books.
