Also it sounds like each covenant has its own story stuff as well as its covenant hall to work on at max level. So there should be at least four different story options to be seen unlike BFA where there are basically just the two.

This is one big issue this go around. It really does nothing that would make you want to play an alt other than maybe one of the opposite faction. I think thats why in the next expansion they are going with basically four campaign stories depending which covenant you chose to affiliate with.

It looks like Ion did state that the variable levels of corruption on those items will become static. That at least helps negate one layer of rng off the system.
