It is far from dead. There are many improvements since launch, and lots more in the pipeline. Just give it a try for the free month, if you like it, you'll know by then. Pretty small investment; ~30 bucks for a box these days.

That IS the great thing about the megaserver. Nothing snowballs the decline of an mmo like a ghost town server situation. You're absolutely right, though, 50% or so of the hard core have moved on or are waiting to see some updates. I think there are still droves of casuals quietly enjoying the game.

That's a cool idea, Tuco. On another note, I think the doomsayers are a bit premature; I went to a low level zone to farm some mats, and it was fucking jammed with players. No way thus goes F2P before console release, and I think console sales will keep it going pretty long term.

Well, they fixed caltrops and mercenary guards, so a lot of people came back from Craglorn into pvp again. Most campaigns have something going on at primetime now, and there are a couple that are jam packed. They have plans to change things though:

I agree with Tuco. I'm more patient, though. I'll give it a few more big patches to see the direction. I really wanna see the Imperial City update.

Interpret how you want. It IS some fun, but I play RPGs for character progression. I play online for competition and rivalries. Those 3 items are key for me staying long term. I can stay short term as long as I know improvements are in the works.

I got some purple jewelry items that were clear upgrades to what I've seen in the veteran 5 and 10 dungeons.

For the record, ran a 4 man with guildies in Craglorn last night and it was fun as hell. The buffed up VR mobs is a bug. Zenimax said a fix is incoming. Not really that big a deal, though, I couldn't even notice a difference...

Half the shit that Tuco is recommending, I guarantee Brian Wheeler had planned/implemented at one point or another in beta. It's really not rocket science. I just hope they can shut up the suit that nixed a lot of it.

Voted and posted also. I said that AOE caps break my immersion. Well - it's kinda true, that shit doesn't make sense. Nybling, to play devil's advocate, my guild really likes PVP, but we only play a couple nights a week, as we're all trying to get higher VR ranks first. I'm sure we aren't alone.

I want to see the next PTS notes. I'm still having fun. 7ish days /played. Certainly has flaws, but fun factor is strong. I'm sure playing with my longtime guildies is a factor too.

I'm closing in on VR3 and still having fun, but yeah, the quest grind can get tedious. My guild has a couple filthy casuals that probably won't see VR10 for many months. They seem okay with that. VR dungeons are pretty challenging. Best fun is still our occasional gank forays into enemy...
