Whelp. Spent a good 8 hours last night trying to figure out why my computer was f'd up and figured out it is basically scrap at this point. PPPpppprettttyyy sure one of my family members jostled it a little too hard during our move... lesson learned there. I have a 6700k / 980 Ti / Intel 750...

^ Cause There's a VERY small difference between the two. $2~ more on a 50 ft cable $0.75~ more on a 10 ft cable Not really a question imo - then again there's prolly no difference but whatever, yolo. I didn't actually wire mine "properly" per-se but I can remove mine with minor effort...

    Routers & Other Networking Stuff

^ Love that router. That is my "old" one. The only reason I got a new one was... well I'm an idiot and I like tech. Here's my new setup - I have about 20 open wired ports to fill on my network yet. I have way too much time on my hands and can't sleep right now. Also glad I don't make these...

Yeah what brekk said wasn'tentirelytrue (the advantage of the 5 Ghz band is in the increase of speed/throughput, regardless if 2.4 ghz is saturated or not).... buuuttt I'm too lazy to write a full explanation. I spent the better part of the last couple days setting up my network with a new...

Mobo's (personal opinion here) stick with Gigabyte or ASUS with a slight edge to Gigabyte. I've used ASRock in my HTPC build and is an OK option too. G.Skill or Corsair is dead on with what my personal preference is for RAM as well. For cooling, yes I'd replace what you linked. You don't...

Yes. I thought the films I know I've seen (Hobbit series) with >24 looked better than the other shit I've seen. I really don't get why anyone would be OPPOSED to a better frame rate, that makes zero fucking sense to me. Edit: I'm going to have to re-watch the Hobbit.

Minus the effort/intentions, this is why I love Plex. Actual HD content... actual HD content everywhere. You bring up a good point about the whole 24 FPS thing, that pisses me off the more I think about it.

I'd say you're full of shit in the claim that 1080 isn't main stream. The rest of the post, sure, I agree with - and is more or less what I said in my TLDR in a few posts back. Edit: If you really want to be super nitpicky about it, there isn't a single channel that actually broad casts in...

    1) No. That wasn't your fucking point. You were talking about upscaling and your general lack of knowledge on the subject. Not the lack of content. 2) The current lack of content has been established. 3) It's going to much less than "years". A few players are already out or are trickling out...

The Speck does have rubber at the corners so it's not solid plastic. However, the rubber at the corners I wouldn't exactly call "thick". Funny I used Spigen before switching to Speck and always felt like their fit was off/goofy. That was a few years back on my S3 though.

It's not complete nonsense. You're looking at it in a vacuum - do a little research here. The quality of the upscaling/image processor will control the quality of the picture. The image processor is the most important part of these 4K TVs for upscaling HD to Ultra HD.Just because a TV is 4K...

Yes. That is also what I've read. If you buy a cheap ass 4K TV, it likely is going to look about the same (possibly slightly worse), than a native 1080p. Upscalers. Higher quality 4K TV's can display 1080p slightly better than 1080p native TV's. TLDR: You will pay a premium to get 4K right...

Is it the aesthetics you don't like? Me, personally, I don't really give two shits what the phone looks like. What I like about it so much is these cases fit the phones perfectly - there's not slop between the case and the phone. And the rubber/grips on it help prevent it from sliding around on...
