The Note 4 has already been rooted. AFAIK the only carriers that do not have root are AT&T and Verizon (which I have). Even so, Verizon's Developers Edition is rooted already. But as he pointed out, root is going to be likely impossible in Lollipop.

You could also just change the notifications on it. I do really like that it tells me when I should leave for appointments and shit but I turned off some of the other notifications. I have no idea how I did that but I'm sure if you tinker in the settings you can fix it.

You either had a shitty phone battery or a shitty battery pack. I charged my brother's phone and mine on the boat a few weekends back and we had full power all weekend. I think between the two of us we each charged 1.5x and the battery back still had 65-75%.

All the time. It is pretty easy to just toss it in my backpack if I'm heading out for the weekend or in my suit case or whatever when I'm traveling. I try to make a point to charge it the night before if I absolutely know I'll be traveling but it holds quite a few charges but even if you forget...

Side note: External battery packs are AWESOME. I have one of these and highly recommend getting one. They are extremely useful to have, especially if you're stuck at an airport or losing battery on a plane or traveling or whatever and don't have access to an outlet and need to charge your phone...

My favorite things of the Note 4: The screen. Holy shit the screen. So nice. Also the camera is outstanding. Combined the two make it worth not having root/adaway yet. The battery life is solid and really glad I got it so far.

I got my Note 4 yesterday. Still haven't really gotten into it but I really like it better than the M8 so far.
