Daybreak making new online RPG on UE4.

This could turn it around for...ah fuck it.

    Knightfall

Eh, sure, the first episode had its share of cliches, but Vikings also started off fairly cliche (farmer defies his social betters and discovers a new land, achieves fame and fortune, brother gets jealous and betrays him, etc., etc.) but still ended up great. There’s enough here that I think...

The Big Bad Console Thread - Sway your Station with an Xboner !

Yeah, if anyone didn’t watch PSX and are wondering if they missed anything, the answer’s no. There was an on-stage demo for Detroit (the hostage negotiation scene from the first trailer), a little more footage of Soul Calibur 6, we learned that the Death Stranding trailer was in-engine, and...

The only fighting game I care about (well, and Smash, I guess; but conventional fighting games). The soul still fucking burns.

    Knightfall

I liked it. Like Vikings, it has a complicated relationship with actual history (although they do hit closer to the mark with the costuming), but—also like Vikings—it’s a fun watch.

There's been rumblings around the Internet for the past couple months that Rocksteady may be getting close to announcing something, and they've debuted trailers at the VGAs before (although no full game announcements, to my knowledge). Not enough to call it anything like a certainty, but I do...

    Justice League (2017)

I’ll be damned, I actually kinda liked it. The story was a mess (you could tell cuts were made), and the villain was barely a character, but the heroes were actually fun, which was enough to somewhat save it for me. And honestly, the story might’ve actually worked if there had been even one...

Murder on the Orient Express (2017)

I’ve read one or two Agatha Christie books in the past, and yeah, the ending was indicative of how she tends to conclude her books. On the whole, I liked the movie; a fun little flick. The visual style in particular was especially good.

    Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

Well, Hulk is bullet-, laser-, and explosive-proof, so I think that was just meant to be a “holy shit, something managed to actually break his skin” moment, to show how badass Fenris is.

    Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

Oh yeah; that’s a given. Damn good movie. Easily the best Thor movie (by a *wide* fucking margin), and pretty fucking close to the top of the pile for Marvel movies in general. The only real criticism I have for it is that, while it nailed style, action, and humor, it never really hit the mark...

    Ghost of Tsushima

Can’t wait to see some real gameplay of this. I love this type of historical open-world game, but I’m getting increasingly fatigued by Assassins vs Templars, so it’s great to see others trying their hands at it.

    Spider-Man

It’s definitely high my list. It’s too early to say for sure, but so far it looks like it has the potential to be Spider-Man’s Arkham, and I’m at the point where I just want every fucking superhero to have their own Arkham.

The Big Bad Console Thread - Sway your Station with an Xboner !

I can’t wait to find out that the reason the robots are becoming self-aware is because they’re possessed by ghosts from another dimension that were pulled into this world by an Aztec priest through a psychic link with a cursed video game disc to help fight his war against the demons and the...

The Big Bad Console Thread - Sway your Station with an Xboner !

Spider-Man still looking good, although I would’ve loved to see more gameplay, as is God of War. Ghost of Tsushima looks awesome, I love that we’re finally seeing something other than Assassin’s Creed and Red Dead Redemption doing historical open-world. In the pre-show, there was also an indie...

    Total War: Warhammer

That roughly reflects my plans. I’m planning to run the Vortex Campaign with the four core races, then use DLC races for Mortal Empires, likely starting with Norsca. Should give them plenty of time to work out the kinks on Mortal Empires.

Someone's been digging around in the files and found a province list for the combined campaign. Link So Naggarroth and Lustria are losing their west coasts, the Southlands is losing most of its southern jungle region, there's some territory being consolidated, and Skavenblight, Hell Pit, and...

    Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017)

Not nearly as good as the first one, but I still enjoyed it. It's main problem was that it just went too far in trying to be over-the-top goofy. Sure, the first one wasn't exactly grounded and gritty, but robot dogs? That said, I do want this series to continue, mostly because I want them to...

    All things Brandon Sanderson

I'm in an explaining sort of mood right now, so I'm going to expand on the whole "shared universe" element that shows up in Stormlight. Like I said in a previous post, hints at the wider universe show up in the other books, but Stormlight is where they become more prominent. Since Chaos just...

EQ Next: #1 Next gen MMO

Back when I played, years back, I remember there being a brief push for the idea of addressing the bloat (post Faydwer, I think). Just enough people bitched about "dumbing down" the game that they largely backed off of it; some buffs got consolidated, and teleport spells were merged rather than...

    Nintendo Switch (previously NX)

I don't do a lot of JRPGs, and I don't yet have a Switch, but that Octopath game intrigues the hell out of me. I wonder just how much of a difference your choice of protagonist will make to the story; is it just going to be the first act or so that'll differ, until the party forms up, or will it...
