    Invasion

I might have missed something, but was there a reason the redneck militia were trying to kill them? They seemed inexplicably hostile for people in the middle of an alien invasion - I mean, even if you reeeeeeaaaaaalllly hate immigrants, hunting them through alien infected woods seems like a...

    Hawkeye

I'd assume she's *supposed* to be terrible at this point - she's a spoiled rich kid that's taken some karate lessons. This show is good fun so far. Agree on Hawkeye's one liners

What the fuck was Gaal's plan there anyway ? "OH NOES IT ALL SANK INTO THE WATER WHO COULD HAVE PREDICTED THIS?!" "Oh right, I predicted this. I guess I probably should have seen that coming."

    Wheel of Time

In the show she actually said that the dark one sent her visions of them in dreams. In the books the various darkfriends they run into can sense them - unclear if it's Ta'veren'ness, Saidin usage or Baalzamon's touch. The former is presumably the simpler version because that chick is several...

Holy shit. That was knocked so far out of the park that you can't even see the park anymore.

    Wheel of Time

Overall this wasn't that bad - it's no game of thrones, but it's not legend of the seeker either. Second and third episodes followed the book a lot more closely than I expected given ep1. Thom is good. Lan.. is not. He's ok when not talking, but his history of Shadar Logoth was just awful.

    Wheel of Time

I admit Perrin is the most boring character of the series, but having him axe-murder a baby is not the way I would have gone to spice things up ;p

    Cowboy Bebop

A faithful adaption would result in an entertaining number of traumatized children, but I can't imagine any universe in which it would happen. What would they even... oh - by the guy that did the netflix version of Death Note. Say no more.

    Wheel of Time

You are hedging a bit with 'key' there, but it really wasn't. Even some of the most compelling dialogue from the books, e.g. tower of joy, littlefinger vs lysa, was completely changed. Most of the rest of it was, at best, broad strokes - this should be obvious in an adaption that has a...

True, the idea that a respected scientist is only respected when he is telling them what they want to hear is entirely bizarre and could never happen in real life ;p

    Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

If you play on the highest difficulties, no-one other than the main character is going to be doing damage anyway, so there's no reason not to increase convenience factor by a thousand times. Zero judgement on cheating them in though, life is way too short to apply 60 buffs every encounter.

    Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

I used a mod for increasing buff duration just to avoid that in Kingmaker. In wrath though, enduring and greater enduring spells should resolve that 100%.

    Doctor Who

Clara's storyline finished when she split up. If they had left that as an ending to the character it would have been perfect IMO.

    Arcane

I don't know anything about LoL or it's lore, nor do I give a fuck. This was great regardless. I'd watch it for the art alone, even if everything else sucked. Everything else is also top notch though - voice acting, story, animation. Two thumbs up.

    Fell Seal: Arbiters Mark

Bats with guns and lich princesses is where it's at for the OP original class builds. If you have the DLC though, there's quite a few extremely strong monster builds possible to add some variety to life ;p

    Doctor Who

IMO Tennant was the better actor, but Smith had better supporting cast and scripts. Which is mostly what hurt the last two - I don't think having Davies back in charge is going to matter much unless they find a replacement writer of Moffat's caliber, regardless of who is cast as the Doctor.

    Invasion

Yeah, this is more 'Signs' than 'Alien'. It's interpersonal drama with vaguely sci-fi things going on in the background. I find it entertaining though, can't really say why. In the tiniest of spoilers though, I find alien invasion significantly more plausible than anyone walking away from that...

https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/46637/soulmonger Read all of this one today - it's really good. Given the author there's a 90% chance it gets abandoned unfinished, but I'd say it's well worth reading anyway given the first book just completed.

Book 2 did take a weird turn into political rants, mass murder and domestic terrorism yeah ;p I still enjoy it, but you are right, it's not up to the standards of book 1.

    Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

Depends on difficulty and what you've got in the party to buff with. Heavy armor does get the shaft something fierce though, it really should come with innate DR or something like that. If you are not the 'slowly creep up in stealth til you see mobs then spend 5 minutes buffing, save then...

Digging through the backlog a bit: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/44132/the-calamitous-bob By the author of A Journey of Black and Red. I liked this one a lot more than journey, the once a week update schedule is a bit depressing though. The backstory is a bit weird, but seems isolated to...

I loved the Belgariad when I was 10, I am not sure how well they would hold up to a re-read though. The landscape is a lot more competitive now than it was in 1982.

    What If...?

This last ep was kind of eh. The lack of consistency in the zombies bugged me a bit as well - what is it ? Are they mindless brain eating zombies or are they are a coordinated team teleporting in and using high tech items in an intelligent fashion ? This changes from scene to scene for no...

Well, given the most prominent example of not doing that is GoT season 8, he probably went the right way there ;p It's not like Sanderson's WoT books dragged on or anything either.

    Wheel of Time

I realise this is probably rhetorical virtue signalling rather than a real question, but it's actually answered in the series. The one you are born with, even if you literally take over a completely different body of the opposite gender.

    Wheel of Time

This pretty much - it wasn't the trailer or the show treatment that bridged the gap with other genre fans, it was the stories themselves. The white walkers are pretty much there as a backdrop to highlight how short-sighted their political bickering is. The same is, in no way, true of Wheel of...

    Pathfinder: Kingmaker

How did you actually kill anything at low levels ? I wouldn't have thought you had enough damage to solo anything ? At least I don't - I am probably doing something wrong, but once out of burning hands, spamming cantrips is slightly less effective than sternly worded letters.

    Pathfinder: Kingmaker

Hmm, started up a hard Kingmaker game with a sorcerer main this time. Holy crap sorcs are worthless at low level, the first archer I ran across in the prologue won initiative then insta-killed me with a crit, good start 8) Also fun times having entire team standing around some dog or kobold...

No, not really. It's mostly Lost style, 'make it up as you go' nonsense, but with less charismatic actors and far less sympathetic characters.

    Saints Row 5

I loved the satirical absurdist humor of SR3. Right from the opening scene where you take an embedded reporter along on a bank robbery wearing giant bobblehead masks of yourself. The trailer for SR5 was interesting, but not funny in any way, so I'll reserve judgement for now I think.
