    Dungeon Defenders: Awakened

That's actually what this entire thing is about - apparently they had a fight with their publisher about it, then broke up and did their own version with no microtransactions. We'll see if they manage to stay away from the sweet, sweet lure of the cash shop after they release though ;p...

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

You know the aoe sim is right there on the page right ? It looks even worse. Suggesting corruption is balanced is straight up retarded when the top 3 individually do more than the bottom 25 combined, on both single target and aoe.

    What did you just read?

The first book is pretty bad, but they do improve, although IMO never above a 3.5 or so. Still decent popcorn action stuff. Despite the urban fantasy setup, I think the narrative arc of these is much closer to a superhero origin story. They certainly make a lot more sense that way. From your...

Legends of Runeterra - Card game by Riot Games

I am not sure that being unable to drop $500 on it so you can crush newbs is a downside at all, let alone a serious one. Catchup mechanics is a reasonable concern, but there's nothing stopping them giving generous quest rewards from old sets that don't give shards. IIRC Eternal does something...

    Batwoman

She was the worst of them though, I am not sure I've seen an actress actually portray wanting someone's dick that bad intentionally ;p

Legends of Runeterra - Card game by Riot Games

If you add the game to steam, it plays pretty much flawlessly on mobile via steamlink.

    Avenue 5

Yeah, show seems outright bad. I am not sure it even got a smile out of me over the two episodes, let alone a laugh.

    Starsector (formerly Starfarer)

Too late ! After playing a few games on vanilla, I added like 10 different factions. I think I spend more time working out loadouts for ships than I do fighting battles with them heh. The mods for this game are amazingly high quality. I like that a lot of the mod weapons are interesting...

    Westworld

I don't follow your reasoning there - why would you assume AI was efficient at all ? Current "AI" approaches are overwhelmingly inefficient brute force solutions - sure that may change as a prerequisite to strong AI existing but why would it be a requirement ? Cruelty is a human empathy thing...

    The Expanse

That's a pretty silly complaint - the wormholes are a fast-transit system - that's like being baffled at the weird coincidence that you took the subway at random and just somehow ended up in an American city.

    Dracula

Given the writers, I watched it expecting something "clever", not really the right term, but an engaging twist. There wasn't any though, it was played pretty much dead straight with no surprises. It's pretty standard horror fare, it was ok*, but it was no Sherlock or Jekyll. *Except the ending...

    Starsector (formerly Starfarer)

Starsector is good fun - thanks for the recommendation. I am beyond terrible at it though, I had to reload the tutorial fights and I get total choice paralysis with picking ships and ship builds. Anyone got some newbie suggestions ? ;p

    Watchmen

It wasn't in your face, but they did - all the cars in the show are electric and there's a few quick mentions of it.

    Harley Quinn

This was good. A lot funnier than I expected. Hard R, language and violence. It's "SJW" insofar as Harley is trying to be taken seriously and get away from being seen as the Joker's girlfriend, but it's pretty much complete parody, witness the reactions to Dr Psycho calling wonderwoman a cunt...

    The Witcher

Finished it up - overall I thought it was good, but not great. Maybe 7/10 overall. Cavill was awesome, the scenery was great ( particularly the castle they were defending, although they obviously didn't have permission to film inside it ;p ), fights were great, overall effects were good, nice...

    The Expanse

Wheel of Time has an interesting take on that one, I'm interested to see what they do with Galad actor wise. From GoT the book, Stannis Baratheon is a more extreme example of how uncompromising lawfulness with the best intentions can end up as a monster, although show Stannis was more...

    The Expanse

Taking a quick look, 33 goes from Holden arguing with Miller about whether they should release the log data straight to the asteroid - it's got a break marker ( lightning bolt ) in between the two, so seems intentional.

    The Mandalorian

LOL those speeder pilots. "He just killed an officer for interrupting him... it may be some time."

    Undone

Yeah, I quite liked the show but the main chick is super annoying the whole way through. It's sort of the point that she's an unlikeable trainwreck, so yeah I'd skip it.

    The Expanse

Holden is super famous, but he's not famous for all good reasons - he started a war and he has gotten a shitload of people killed. Also, he's an Earther - for that confrontation it's like Tom Cruise showing up in gaza to negotiate between the israelis and palestinians and then being surprised...

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

It was fine... for a transformers movie. Gorgeous set pieces, good action, mostly decent acting, terrible humor and the plot makes NO FUCKING SENSE. "But whyyyyy ?!?" was my immediate reaction to most everything that happened. Like - how did the evil plan with the dagger even work ? Also...

    The Expanse

In fairness, the actor doesn't have a lot to work with in the early seasons. In the book, Holden is pretty much a cardboard cutout in comparison to Miller. I'm almost 100% certain that Ty Franck wrote Holden for the book and that Abraham wrote the Miller side - he was several orders of...

    The Expanse

He's bad, although he gets better in s4. Naomi though, well... I agree with previous sentiment - Amos and Murtry killed it this season. Murtry is just a great bad guy - he just seems so reasonable even when he's being outright evil - his bosses probably love him.

    The Mandalorian

At first I thought the force choke was weird. Thinking about it though, prior to that 100% of the Mando's passengers have been in need of a force choke, so baby Yoda is probably all confused why Mando is yelling at him :emoji_smiling_imp: This kind of childhood is how you get feral yodalings ;p

    The Mandalorian

The x-wings did mention they thought the station was launching fighters at them, and that's why they attacked. Presumably they'd normally start with 'Hey guy, what's up ?' rather than shooting. A prison transport seems like the kind of thing that might have air support nearby, and the type of...

Bah, how can you not like Avasarala ? "Don't stick your dick in Holden, it's fucked enough already."
  31. V

    Watchmen

I'm pretty sure what they were going for is that him experiencing every moment at the same time means he can't actually change anything. It's sort of a given for being able to predict the future flawlessly - if you can do that, free will is impossible. Kind of a shitty life for him ;p

Well, if nothing else, 'Power of Twelve Feet' was pretty funny. This clearly needs to be in the D&D rulebook.

    The Mandalorian

Call it my inner troll, but I would love to have seen the online reactions if that bounty hunter headshotted baby yoda ;p While I don't disagree with the assessment, it's a little funny that a murderous blood-soaked rampage that's killed 50+ people so far still counts as a PG rated kid's show...

Mando's attempts at being a dad are hilarious. 'Stay here ! Don't touch anything !'

    All things Brandon Sanderson

Overall an excellent book, however I offer two middle fingers and a chorus of 'booo's to Sanderson for the ending. Shows it's YA'ness a lot more than Skyward did, with a plan so ludicrous that even a team made up of Leeroy Jenkins and Wile E Coyote would raise some concerns about lack of planning.

    What did you just read?

I'm pretty sure it hasn't been collected into an ebook, the author would have put a notice on the site somewhere so that people knew they could buy it.

I was pleasantly surprised at Elon Musk's ability to make fun of himself. Also, poor Netflix ;p

Oh, i didn't realise this was a serial too - looks like the amazon books are only half the series. That's convenient.
