    What did you just read?

Cold Iron - Miles Cameron First book of the Masters & Mages series - epic fantasy, with early gunpowder level technology. Refreshingly avoids the main character being the amazingly awesome chosen one - he's more the John McClane type - wrong place, wrong time. An average student mage heading...

    Warrior

The tits and violence genre has been sadly lacking of late. This show seems a worthy entry, but I'd probably watch it even if the first episode sucked, for the same reason I watched Spartacus.

    The Twilight Zone

Eh, this seemed ok to me. The first two stories were pretty unoriginal though, does give me a lot of hope for something new from the rest of it. Complaining aboutthe 2A jokes is ridiculous though, that the jokes were pathetic and not even slightly funny was the whole point.

James S.A. Corey - The Expanse

You mean how they are trying to destroy all life in the universe ? Or that they live in stars ? Or that they look like birds ? I mean, is there anything similar other than being mysterious ?

James S.A. Corey - The Expanse

Well, the proto-builders were clearly a bunch of shitheads. That doesn't mean the extradimensional aliens aren't also shitheads, but there's pretty strong evidence that they don't do anything unless provoked.

    Shazam! (2019)

Mmm, I'm torn - on the one hand it was fun, entertaining and well-acted. On the other hand it was trite, unoriginal and silly. It had more of the Adam West batman sensibility, where there's not really any consequences for anything, no matter how recklessly stupid and dangerous it is. In my...

The Land (2-6) - Aleron Kong I was underwhelmed by the first book, which I reviewed here a while ago, but it had an interesting enough concept to get me to try the 2nd one later. The second one was a huge improvement ( I guess he could afford an editor at that point ) and they have gotten better...

    Love, Death & Robots

It's kind of weird - you have one set of people complaining about 'aaah! feminism', and the other set complaining about 'ahhh! hates women' about the same thing. It's extra funny because it all seems to come from a minor change to the original story.

    Love, Death & Robots

This series as a whole was great. While they obviously weren't consistent quality, I didn't really dislike any of them except the Hitler one. Some pretty amazing animation in there, enough that my initial reaction to 'Ice Age' was 'no way', rather than 'wait, why isn't this animated'.

    Love, Death & Robots

Sonnie's edge is probably my favorite of Hamilton's short stories. They changed it up a bit to put Sonnie in a more positive light, but it was great to see it animated with that quality.

There's no really any comparison; the entirety of cradle is the kiddie pool, you don't even qualify on the scale until you leave under your own power. Judge is the top power level of an intergalactic civilization. I strongly suspect Lindon has ninja'ed a massive shortcut though - having a...

    gen:LOCK

Good voice actors, good animation, good music, great action, great art, interesting story. This one seems a winner from the first episode at least. Plus, David Tennant as the mad scientist ;p

"That was an accident ! I don't know how to care intentionally about other people's shit.' I don't know if it's the writers, the actress, or both, but Margo is such a fun character. Come to think of it, probably my favorite out of anything I'm watching at the moment.

    Alita: Battle Angel (2018)

I thought this one was good, other than everything to do with Hugo. I mean it's not like the rest of the plot was high art, but the scenes with that guy were almost physically painful.

The DLC are almost all worth it in some way or another, but they don't all add to each game. Like the robots one lets you play robots, but doesn't do much if you aren't. Utopia has some fun end-game stuff and Leviathans adds some entertaining mid-game space monsters. I'd probably get base...

    Cyberpunk 2077

The guy isn't a software developer, he's a creative director. That's why it's interesting news to me anyway - from my perspective almost all of BFAs issues are in game design, not in any technical implementation or art.
