I mean, it was probably patterned after Songblades in Dungeons and Dragons, not an actual novel idea they thought through and considered the ramifications of. Songblades pretty much replaced instruments in combat there, too.

For a Cyberpunk game, this feels like marketing.

Obviously they'll have raid bosses in the MMO drop treasure chests you redeem in MTGO, and the treasure chests will have a chance to drop loot/resources for your MMO character. Make ya buy into both products ;)
