Speaking if respecing, I unlocked respeccing and am looking to switch from a str to a spellsword build. Just something that casts shit and swings a light, fast sword. Any good combinations of spells and weapons to go for and stat allocations to use?

Roll samurai to start, seems to be the best introduction to the game. The game is massive and it makes a lot of sense to respec one or more times to try out the different builds. In previous games you'd only want to do this by replaying the game.

anyone else getting really tired of the cremasteric reflex getting triggered from trying to get items near ledges? A pain in the nether regions, I haven't had it this much since jedi knight.

yeah with colossal swords those extra swings you requested a decade ago show up like a burp from yesterday's taco bell.

consumables is just one additional way dark souls games can use to make you cry and make pros look magnificent. I hate them with pure envy and regret.

I can barely remember what I did four days and 40 levels ago. Half my workplace is playing this game and talking about things I know I've done but have no memory of doing.

I'm planning the same, am clearing out each area as much as possible before moving on. It's going to be a loooong haul though, especially if there's some arduous post-game content.

I've permanently grafted the HP regen talsiman around my cock Godrick style. But seriously, I only swap it out for tough boss fights that are over quickly one way or the other.

I audibly count the times (I think it's 6??? I think they might change it up tho....) when they do that. I love this game.

Sticking to a giant mob's ankle is a tried and true Souls strategy. My problem is having to memorize where he is going to swing his sword or breath on me based on how he wiggles his toe. It's kind of obnoxious. I wish there was a way to zoom out further, but that's elden ring, baby.

yeah, that's nice but when I looked at it, https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Interactive+Map had more stuff. Just be careful about relying too much on it. I just use it to tell me if I missed anything.

parry is fun but it increases the important of memorizing boss animations. Would be a smoother learning curve if the game told you that you were too early or too late.

did you fight he has razor thin margins for attacking for most builds, including greatsword. I'm not sure how many other bosses are like that.

They do a great job balancing the mounted combat and the "group" combat with your summon. You can go into a dungeon, spend a bunch of time on foot enjoying that traditional Dark Souls dungeon experience, then get a break from that having a bit less serious mounted combat, then there will be...

ER's story is compelling and the world-building is interesting because it's so different from traditional open-world games. It's a dystopian horror set in a fractured world with NPCs stuck in a disassociative fugue whose only purpose is to make vague yet poetic remarks to the player. There's...

I've been jumping weapons to keep things fresh and they did a really good job balancing the different attack modes so they are situationally useful. It's been a while but I remember in previous souls game spending most of my time leaning on 1 to 3 options.

If you enjoyed playing Witcher 3 on a hard difficulty and liked exploring the world you'll probably enjoy ER. It's a fantastic game and just because you really enjoyed the quests in Witcher3 doesn't mean you'll miss them in another game. #diversityisstrength

ER feels like my favorite part of Baldur's Gate 1: the first half where you explore all the overworld areas and some dungeons with minimal dialog. I've replayed BG2 once and BG1 several times. If BG2 had less city stuff, less dialog/quests I'd probably have replayed the entire series multiple...

yeah I take the chucklefuck gargoyles seriously everytime and am not embarrassed at all when I die to them. In addition to their mini-me hitboxes, their moveset is very agile and vicious and they dodge more than most mobs in the game. They also hide in the most insidious of locations.

The most embarrassing deaths I've had are from the mangy dogs. I'll just casually rush them, miss my attack and get stun locked to death.

I love basically every mechanic change they made in ER relative to DS. Probably the biggest thing for me is ditching all the hallowing garbage in DS. I hated spending 99% of the time looking like a zombie.

The only thing you're gimping yourself with is not upgrading your great sword. If you like the moveset you can keep upgrading virtually any weapon and it'll be perfectly fine until you get the ability to respec. All low-grade smithing stones can be farmed, so don't hoard them.

I want to try a polearm before respecing, what's a good halberd for someone with 40str, 14dex, 10faith and 10 int? I don't mind boosting my faith a couple points for the golden halberd, but not sure if I should farm and upgrade something else.
