    Deadpool (2016)

Just saw it tonight, great movie. BEST Stan Lee cameo of any Marvel movie yet, hands down. But, even in the post-movie euphoria that inflates my opinion of it, I don't think this was a 'better' movie then Guardians. I'd currently put it as #2 or 3, cause it's hard to compare it to normal Marvel...

Yea, buying up duals in response to the announcement of the set is mtg finance 101. That is hardly damning evidence. I'm not saying they don't have inside information, just that specific example doesn't indicate anything one way or another.

CLG is very inconsistent is the thing, fantasy-wise. They often splitpush to take objectives, and this results in low points for almost everyone but Huhi (somehow he keeps putting up decent numbers even in low kill games) when they do. They haven't been killing it all season, they've been up and...

Do you know where to find a spear or shield in real life? Shits pretty rare... Yes, I know they could just make some, but that's super tough man! Sharpening a long stick is soooo much work.. aint nobody got time for dat! (I agree with you, mostly. It would be a lot harder to find some real...

Yea, they purposefully designed the cascade cards to not work that way. They split them up among all the colors, made the effects down the chain do different things, etc.. It's the first idea that pops into most people's mind when they see the mechanic, so they made sure it wasn't broken in that...

    The Walking Dead

I'm ok with the two sons dying, they both took after their father, but I was a little upset at Rick's blonde side dish biting it. There were some inconsistencies, there always are, but don't forget.. Any bite is lethal. As soon as one walker has sunk their teeth into someone, if it's not a...

Well.. you had Fox, who is the mid on UoL and has been crushing it. They are very solidly the 2nd/3rd best team in EU. Froggen is definitely better then Sencux, this is his team's (and his) first LCS, though. I suppose you don't watch EU LCS tho, and wanted someone you know.

    Limitless

That was certainly a good episode, possibly my favorite so far, but I still enjoy it every week. If you take that one away, I think the show has still been getting better. It just spiked so high on that one, these seem a little worse in comparison. I enjoyed the lengths that suck up Spike went to.

eh.. he's got a passive style sometimes. He puts up huge points if his team wins, basically. I wouldn't consider him a stud mid by any means, but he's way better then the bottom of the league.

Yea, I feel like they had some kind of comp in mind, and just somehow missed how many power picks they were leaving up in the process. Idk if they tried to scramble to fix it after the ashe pick and seeing what TSM had, or if that was the comp they had in mind to begin.

Yea, I sort of agree there, but it's not a big deal to me either way. I think it was actually changed at some point after the mechanic came out. But, after I learned how it worked, I had fun a couple times reverse rule lawyering a neckbeard with it. Playing against a jackass who blocked badly...

That's not completely true. A card in play's text is free information (unless there is a change between it and it's oracle text). If there are multiple things effecting it's P/T, then it's technically derived information, but each of the effects are free information (if it's been pumped by a...

But, then you get people complaining about RNG deciding things. I'm not familiar with the mechanics of Hex specifically, but it's the #1 thing bitched about in Hearthstone. There is a little bit different skillset between mtgo and paper magic, but most still prefer paper. Being online has...

    MTG thread

Uhh.. if you are offended by that statement, I don't know what to tell you. It takes time and effort to be good at magic. Not everyone has, or wants, to do that. There isn't anything wrong with that, though. Games are meant to be fun, if being competitive at a certain game isn't fun to you, then...

In this specific example, I, and 99% of competitive players, agree with you. I was talking about derived information in general, which I do agree with. I have won many games because my opponent didn't do their combat math right, or didn't pay attention to how much mana I had untapped, or some...

    MTG thread

Keeping track of certain things is skill testing, such as combat math. The intent is that being able to figure out that information (derive it) should be an edge if you are better then your opponent in that regard. However, some neckbeard rules lawyers use it to make the game more annoying...

Ok fine.. technically if you phrase it 'how big is the tarmogoyf' they dont have to answer, but 99% of players will. If you get the 1% of dicks who think that's a valid strategy somehow, you can ask 'what are all the card types are in your graveyard' and they HAVE to answer that correctly/hand...

I think you misunderstood what I meant. If my opponent goes to block my 4/4 with his 3/4 tarmogoyf, and no mana/tricks available, I don't have to remind him it's a 3/4 if something changed since the previous turn when it was 4/5. If he asks before blocks, yes, I would tell him. Volunteering...

The Grand Tour (from the guys in Top Gear)

Uhh.. I hate to say it, but after checking out a few of the people I didn't know.. this might actually be a good show. It won't be the same show, obviously, but most of the presenters are fun to watch so far. I think they are going with a large cast so each does whatever they are best at...

    MTG thread

Err.. what? You can't purposefully withhold information that is freely available. An opponent is under no obligation to remind you of what their P/T is, but if you specifically ask they are supposed to tell you. Now, they could technically just hand you their graveyard and be a dick about it by...

    League Of Legends

I was a little surprised they scored that low, figured their game tomorrow against h2k would be their low point one. While VIT winning isn't that big of an upset, both teams skirmish fairly often enough that it seemed likely they'd get high kills. Instead, VIT learned how to work the macro game...

Alphadraft's new buggy ass layout just scared the crap out of me.. they reposted the notice from week2 that Fox was forfeiting to NRG, made me freak out for a few mins till I realized despite it popping up as new, the date was for week2.

I didn't know they thought it was bad design, so much as over powered cause it was trivial to get 7 cards in GY. Plus, players seem to like graveyard as a resource mechanics, so maybe they changed their mind if they thought it wasn't good before.

On a different note.. just saw the Shadows over Innistrad leaks/spoilers.. Madness is back? Interesting.. Investigate and Delirium seem like kind of clunky mechanics to have. I'm not talking about the speed of the format exactly. A faster format often has less interaction, as it boils down to having that one key piece of disruption or not, but not always. I'm saying there's too many things that invalidate certain strategies. Vintage has more interaction then many...

That kind of reinforces my point though. Some decks are basically locked out from playing the game if you get thalia down. That's not interactive at all. I understand that Force is necessary evil in Legacy, but it also kind of sucks that it is at the same time. Thats often the only card that...

Man.. watching malphite try to take down a banner of command'd cannon minion was sad.. I'll be honest, until last week, I didn't even notice the zzrot portal was in the game. idk.. I realize it's just my opinion, but whenever I've played legacy it never feels super interactive. MTG thread

It's also alot less fun to play against. Unconditional, cheap counterspells don't let the opponent play the game. They removed it because it was making the game less fun, and it was that kind of design philosophy that caused magic's growth. Thoughtseize and Bolt both still allow your opponent...

counterspell in standard would be bad... They'd either have to make all removal/control spells so bad, that straight aggro would wreck because midrange has no removal options, or control would be too strong. It'd be a nightmare to balance without it dominating the format. If there was another...
