I am assuming at the time they still had an official partnership with SOE, so yeah, it's entirely conceivable that they could possibly have leveraged that with the right investors. I have seen dumber shit happen in business.

Yeah, Joppa seems to be working really hard to fix some of the burned bridges and scorched earth that occurred with the previous regime, which i am thankful for.

EQ1 hired back one of the devs they let go, so hopefully positive things on that front......

They have been clueless for a while, Daybreak is just ending all pretense of them putting any real effort into helping their customers.

I am curious to how it's not as much as we might think. Originally there were less classes and each class had two archetypes, now you have added more classes that appear to be single archetypes. I asked similar questions about the class direction when the changes first occurred, well before...

Unfortunately it seems so, they now seem to be more generic EQ-esque classes, was incredibly disappointed. Hope this isn't set in stone.

They would probably spin it off to Broadsword games along with Ultima and Dark Age Camelot. Probably wouldn't see new EQ games, but less chance of it getting sunsetted any time soon while there was still money to milk out of it.

Roshen already posted on the EQ boards that there are no plans to bring back any closed games.......... maybe that will change.

Well Sony has been in trouble for quite some time. Not sure if this will help or hurt SOE's, i mean Daybreak's future. Will see if they eventually hold on to EQ or sunset it and focus on new games and expanding the platforms for existing games.
