They don't really. Most that I've spoken to understand why it happened and think it was a result of their imperialist aggression. It's mostly westerners who love to feel guilt who still complain about it.

They've patched in a new victory condition which makes it even faster and easier to win with early aggression. If you have at least half of the target VP, and double the nearest competitor you win.

Second run through is going better. Made nice with my closest strongest neighbour (marriage, trade etc) and have done everything I can to maintain the relationship. They are acting as a nice buffer against the aggressive NPC behind them and the two have been fighting a war for 100 years or so...

Depends on what you're doing at end game. Large scale stuff is tanks healers and bright wizards / sorcs, same as it was at launch. Different healers and tanks are better/worse than the others at various things. If you're using a premade group then there's specific classes that work better...
