NHL 2024-2025: Definitely the Leafs year

Crazy game to start. Skinner came to play so it's going to be a series. Sucks to lose on an awful penalty like that but oh well. One of the big things is that Edmonton thrives on building speed and long passes in the neutral zone. Florida did a really good job of keeping the forecheck, limiting...

The only thing about this series that makes me nervous is McDavid going nuclear. It's one of those questions where you ask, "Do you really think a generational talent like McDavid is going to lose a second cup finals in a row?" Most people would say no, and believe his will could overcome it...

Expectations for Dallas will probably need to be tempered for next season. They dont have a 1st round pick the next 2 seasons and only 4m in cap space or so. IMO they should fire Pete for blaming Otter for the series loss when the team scored 2 goals in a 3 game span. I cant recall a coach with...

You are right. I've been thinking about a reply for a couple of hours now, but I think Dallas should roll the dice with a new coach, and change the identity with several additions. IMO the biggest thing to me is that there are really only 2 types of NHL players: those who show up in the...

Losing Hyman really hurts, but Edmonton still has a good chance to beat Florida if Skinner stays hot. Then again, is he hot because he's hot, or is Dallas just not good enough to pressure Edmonton's defense and create enough high danger chances? Its hard to say with matchups between teams. If...

I was entertained. GG Canes. Edit: this is the first ECF win by the Canes that austere religious scholar Osama Bin Laden has missed.

Props to Kochetkov so far. Good start, just had a bad bounce. Canes are shooting the puck now so that's good, but they are still losing the puck possession battle and spending a lot of time in their own zone.

There's nothing to say. I can't recall ever seeing a conference final where everyone knows the outcome 2 games in. We've all seen series with heavy favorites where the underdog can win a game or two. But this? There's no motivational speech to give. There's no lineup changes RBA can make...

Sucks that one conference final isn't looking to be competitive.

Panthers are very good at hiding it. Almost every championship team toes that line between chippiness and dirty. The mistake all the other teams make is they retaliate without regard to if the refs are looking, or if they can make a cross check or elbow look like they're swinging for the puck...

Like any true Panthers fan, I only started watching a few years ago. I instantly respected the Hurricanes when I saw their coach Rod Brind'Amour. Dude looks like he eats nails heated in a blast furnace for breakfast and washes it down with molten lead. Also watching the Canes skate around is...

Its the hope that kills you. Why fight and play such a great game in game 6 if you're gonna lay down in a couple of days anyway? I feel bad for Woll. Dude had a great series coming in cold and his team's defense is just shitting themselves.

NHL 2024-2025: Definitely the Leafs year

In the moment they'd want the Panthers to lose, and for the Leafs to come out on top for once. In a few months they will regret it if the Leafs actually do win the cup. Oh you thought putting up with with a small fan base like the Panthers was hard to deal with after they won the cup? Wait...

NHL 2024-2025: Definitely the Leafs year

There are 110 NHL players who have scored 400 or more regular season goals during their career. Auston Matthews is the only one of that group who has never scored a goal after the 1st round of the playoffs.

Would you accept going to an alternate universe where everything is the same, except the Caps win the cup this year... ...but Gatorade was created at FSU instead, it's called Seminade in that universe, and nobody seems to acknowledge the humor in the name?

NHL 2024-2025: Definitely the Leafs year

Can Matthews be traded? I'm sure a small market team would love to have a regular season talent like that to sell tickets. There's no way they can run it back with this roster.

This game is great so far. It has everything. Good fight, good back and forth, good hits. Too bad Vegas is toast because even Skinner made a big time save.

NHL 2024-2025: Definitely the Leafs year

Woll stood on his head tonight. 37 saves, and both goals were because of defensive miscues. I have no idea what McCabe was doing on that second goal. I underestimated Toronto but they are on the back foot as the series progresses. A couple of mistakes here and there is gonna end them like it...

Toronto looks pretty good. They've got this in the bag because I don't see how Florida is gonna come back, especially with all the extra hockey they've played the last couple of years. However, as a Panthers fan I don't actually watch hockey games if the Panthers aren't playing so what do I know?

Yeah I'm not really happy they're gonna goon it up. Leafs are doing a good job giving it as much as they're getting it though. Oh god Woll is not the hot goalie. Edit: I think Bennett should be suspended BTW. Yeah you let it slide before but you can't do that to goalies or this shit happens...

I don't think the Leafs are the team to do it this year. Everyone evaluating this series acknowledges that Toronto has to elevate their play to a level they've rarely shown. Even the most ardent BeLeafers say, "in order to win this series, we need the core 4 to play great, be physical...

I don't see them pulling it off. They looked lifeless in the 1st. They're fighting hard right now, and just got a crazy bounce to cut it to 2-1. However, Binnington looks locked in and Helle doesn't appear to be. The Blues aren't giving them many good shots either.

The winner of Tampa / Florida was likely the East representative for the finals IMO. It's just kind of unfortunate they're meeting in the first round. Yeah Tampa could make some improvements, but Florida is a bad matchup for them and also a wagon right now. Ottawa would probably make for a...
