If ADA isn't a competitor of ETH, which coins are?

ETH has definitely accelerated their timeline due to competition. ADA is one of those competitors.

Right. Should be no need to sell ETH.

ETH will be back at 4k+ very soon.

BTC is still the bellwether crypto, even if you believe (like me) that it won't be for long. Anything that massively effects BTC is going to have a broad effect on the crypto market as a whole. Plus, the whole DoJ/IRS investigation into Binance is also factoring in. Plus, the crypto market...

Lol perusing fintwit- all the various influencers and reps from the various cryptos are taking this opportunity to go ahead and remind everyone how "green" and "sustainable" their coin is... :eyeroll. Everyone wants to be Musk's next crypto crush.

We know institutional investors have been primarily responsible for ETHs recent surge, but we don't necessarily know which ones. Read the writing on the wall though: 1. Tesla publicly sells a portion of BTC. 2. ETH more than doubles in a month as institutional investors pour money into it. 3...

Read the last sentence of Tesla's statement. It's v clear Musk is transitioning his support from BTC to some other crypto. Pick the right one and you'll make a lot of money. The obvious answer is ETH, but it's Musk, so who knows? It's fun to speculate what's going to happen, but anyone with...

This is an awesome time to buy. These opportunities don't come along very often. Make sure you are catching it near the bottom though, rather than halfway down.

Coins with a solid use case get hit with hype just like shitcoins. When the hype ends for shitcoins, they die. When hype ends for coins with substance, they correct and then continue to grow. VET was steadily growing in value before the hype and it will continue to grow once it corrects.

Yeah, I've stayed away from ADA for these reasons, but I've recently read some things that make me think ETH and ADA can easily co-exist and both can prosper. My biggest position by far is still ETH, but I sunk some funds into ADA recently mainly because as a coin itself it is technically very...

Yeah, that's why I put "company" in quotes. You're investing in a protocol, not a company, but that's what's really interesting about crypto- it gives "protocols" some of the same properties as companies. It's not quite analogous, but from an investment standpoint it's close enough.

I guess it feels like owning tokens (and some coins) is almost a new way of owning equity in a company. Even if the UNI token itself doesn't have a "use," Uniswap itself has significant value as a "company" and by owning UNI you are investing in the company. As Uniswap itself goes up in value...

Again, worth remembering all these barriers and annoyances are what is keeping the prices low enough for normal people to get in cheap and early. Once they are gone prices will skyrocket.

Because the benefits of owning crypto are significantly greater than the benefits of owning a crypto-related ETF.

You'd be dumb to 86 your VET before it gets listed on Coinbase and some of the other exchanges. That by itself will be a huge catalyst.

Yep, it's still my second biggest position after ETH. I won't be surprised if it hits 2$+ by the end of the year. The big question will be what to do if it does: cash out or stick. I'm still mulling how long term of an investment it is.

    Bitcoins/Litecoins/Virtual Currencies

No, I agree, but I think BTC and ETH are both something beyond "money"- especially ETH. Plus, unlike MySpace, I don't think BTC is going anywhere. I just think ETH will prevail as the "top dog" transactional crypto. As has been stated, it's pretty clear a multi-crypto paradigm is in our...

They were products that needed to be turned into a business for long-term relevance. Facebook succeeded, MySpace didn't. I could say the same thing about comparing ethereum and Bitcoin that you are saying about comparing Facebook in MySpace btw. You're pretty much proving my point.

First market is a huge advantage typically. That's why those who aren't crypto-literate use "Bitcoin" as a synonym with "crypto", just like plenty of people still call any soda a "coke" or any copy from a copier a "Xerox." That said, in the tech world first to market doesn't mean nearly as much...

Doge never does what it's supposed to. Anytime there is a big planned day that is supposed to be good for Doge, there is a selloff instead. Count on it. It may keep going up for now, but if you hold beyond Thurs night at the latest, you're a fool in my book.

As Mike Green (and others) have mentioned, a BTC-rich agent (in this case China) who is immune to economic incentive could catastrophically disrupt a global financial system that is based on BTC. And they could do it with mind-blowing ease. Both BTC and ETH (and every other crypto) has...

Not blaming you at all, but this right here is the most distilled explanation as to why there aren't more crypto millionaires. Crypto is such an interesting beast. It doesn't follow the same rules as equities and that throws people. People see their crypto investment triple and cash out with...

If banks follow the same pattern that PayPal and others have followed, they will hold a few different coin options. If you think banks are going to hold BTC and not ETH too, you're crazy. I've made no secret of the fact that I think ETH is going to flippen BTC and become the top dog crypto...

Wow big news. Pretty much verifies everything I was just saying. I feel like this signals imminent mainstream adoption of crypto- at least as an investment option (if not a currency). Even so, what will start as an investment option will 100% evolve into a currency for lots of reasons that...

Yeah, things will definitely get better in terms of reliable, insured places to stake and hold crypto. It's just pretty close to the Wild West right now. Wild West means a lot of risk in a lot of volatility, but it also means a lot of opportunity. Those willing to risk the dangers of the...

Savings accounts are useless. That said, you've got to really, really, really trust a non-FDIC insured company to store $31,000,000 with them. It's too easy to wake up one morning to a zero balance and an email from the company saying "Sorry, we were hacked and your money is all gone." Zero...
