Since I enjoyed the hell out of HFW I am replaying HZD which I never actually finished originally. HFW is such a good sequel, just iterated on an already great game to improve most aspects slightly.

Mine are all stuck on apex hearts which seem annoying to farm. I rotated the 3 behemoth sites 3-4 times each trying to get an apex one to spawn with no luck. Even if I did get one to spawn I assume the heart is a rare drop too - although maybe not, I'm not sure.

You can google plenty of layout ideas but in general people run belts through splitters perpendicular to the factory inputs, and belt through mergers perpendicular to the outputs. This allows easy scaling of factories up to the limit of your belts. Going vertical is definitely ideal.

Yes that trend continues, most(maybe all) dungeons from heavensward on are just straight lines. In the last few xpacs even the pulls become predictable. 2 trash groups -> wall -> 2 trash groups -> wall -> boss. That cycle x3 is most dungeons.
