Just look at all the crying about burn/aggro atm. Even my Gruul monster and r/g dinos are suffering a bit with all the hate decks in bo1. RDW burn is still doing work though since you can turn 4 kill so often.

Oh quick play and constructed has been pretty varied for me as well. I like bo3 on paper, but in arena it's just too long to commit when I can usually pop 5-10 games an hour in bo1 in the same time frame.

Casual play is deck based matchmaking. If you want to play junkers then build decks with no rares/mythics.

If you want to build a competitive deck then popping packs is best. If you dont care about constructed and like limited format then go for it, but it's not worth if it you are getting less than 2 wins in my opinion.

Both. Until you are geared to take a hit, don't take hits. Once you are over geared or have methods to deal with hits (ex: rocksteady mantle) you can be a little bit more of a slacker.

I would almost never recommend running 1 of anything creature base. If you have at least 3-4 of another creature - hunted witness, the other elephant you can convoke for health maybe as a 2 of with your venerated. Combat tricks could probably replace your legions/historys. Basically anything...

I've never once been ixalan'ed, but soot/cannonade makes me cry. Games are so quick though it doesn't particularly matter. You will know by turn 3-4 if you are going to win.
