Maybe you're right. In terms of action movies, my top 5 is (not in order): Die Hard, Predator, Aliens , Robocop and Matrix. Except for the last one, the other 4 have what you were saying, charismatic lead.

Saw it.....and I really wanted to love it but only I like it. It's a great action movie, stunts, practical effects, good pacing, good soundtrack, good villains but....but I don't know why it's not better (or at the same level) as Die Hard, Aliens or Predator. Maybe I have to see it again but...
