What are you listening to at the moment?

2000s had some good music, it's just seems harder to find (as in discover it). Probably because we were all busy or some shit. Almost all the music I know from the 2000s is either a 90s band (Foo Fighters have more good music after 2000, than before it), or was used on the TV show Entourage.

Lies. You see, when a company is struggling and you, as a board member want to get out (sell your shares), you appoint a woman, preferably a black lesbian woman to be CEO. Now, magically, the company is harder to criticize and journalists go easier on the new CEO when they make the media...

Rings of Power: Tolkien's Shambling Skinsuit

A bit of different nitpick, instead of the same ol' same ol' on repeat; here is a video going over the practicality of the armor. Just another thing to compare to the movies; when WETA went so far with trying to get costume accuracy right by modeling their costumes after real medieval armors.

Edit: NM, I see you meant Epic. I haven't been following Stardock in a while, did Wardel announce all upcoming games will be Epic exclusive or only Galactic Civ 4,so far? Where do you see Tencent involved? Last I saw, Brad Wardel owns Stardock and he isn't a bad owner, especially compared to...

Members of congress have 45 days to report their trades, so if that's what they are making an ETF on, it will be way behind the ball and possibly help the politician's trade positions. You can see what congress is reporting here: https://www.quiverquant.com

    What vehicle do you drive?

Yea, those are hard to compare, being one is 4k miles "new," and the other has 70k miles on it. Don't know the market to know if $31k is a fair price. Prices should keep coming down on sports cars until at least march and car prices in general are trending down but shit can happen and change all...

Her forefathers were no different than Saddam Hussain and I show the dead queen (and current king) the same reverence I would show the descendants of Saddam. Queen Victoria's extended family is also directly responsible for WW1 happening the way it did and I can think of no single family with...

    House of the Dragon

Some shows take a season to get going. The three I can think of off hand are TNG, SW: Clone Wars, and SW: Rebels. If the underlying IP is good, there is always a chance to hang this up, then come back in a couple years, if sentiment improves after the second season is over. I am still rustled...

Yarp, it's hard to have high morals if you want to make money on the stock market. I was mostly joking, but I really do feel dirty profiting off of such companies. So I will stick to index funds, where I have a much smaller slice of the pie. Also, all tech is not made the same. It seems that...

I mean, it is getting tough reawtching each episode 10 times out of spite, so I will probably have to cut back to 5 next episode, but still, I want everyone that bought Fallout 3 to know that they should all burn in hell for helping defiling the greatest IP of all time. As for last episode in...

Sure, but then you are investing in Facebook, a morally reprehensible company second only to TikTok. I feel less dirty investing in Lockheed or Northrop Grumman, and they actually kill people (but at least they aren't complicit in destroying US society). Speaking of NOC, look at them numbers...

Every time I start a new game I want to try something new, but always end up picking a major power after spending 30+ minutes looking at lesser nations. It's nothing new, the magic of HGH administered by the best medical staff money can buy and the best personal training team that money can buy. Had a boss (owner of the company) at one time that was in his late 40s and jacked like a 20 year old on roids. He loved his HGH. Said it had all the...

    Tales of the Jedi

I don't think there is anything official saying how many Jedi there were before order 66? If you go off of younglings that Yoda teaches or Anakin kills (whichever is larger) then you would assume there are at least a handful that become Padawan each year, yet only five Jedi are known to turned...

Right, but the whole point of talking about glue was only in relation to using it instead of that metal piece, in the old house, that the dude in the video was so enamored with and musing about how much smarter they were... ...when in fact that metal ring is just obsolete technology used to fix...

I would have thought a 45 degree miter joint, like you have on the door frame molding, would be more akin to the end to end glue up that he showed in his video. The picture you have is what the guy in the second video is talking about, where you need joinery to properly keep it together. Also...

    Woodworking

The glue would add enough to keep it from separating like he shows on the one doorframe in his house. The cost of time and resources to make and put that octagonal ring in, still looks like it would be more than the cost of just gluing it, then replacing the whole frame, if its damaged. Doesn't...

How is that any better than wood glue? Modern US houses are built cheap, so cheap, I doubt they take the time to apply wood glue on any molding. They just walk around with a nail gun and nail that shit up as fast as possible. Hell, the crew that did our house didn't even double check the...

    Hard West 2

Before it came out, I was looking forward to playing this. Then I read some reviews saying that it's very punishing for not playing the missions exactly the way the devs had in mind, turning it into more of a puzzle game (save/load repeat), instead of an Xcom type tactical game. Still, may give...
