Wizards are not terrible, but other classes can do much better. Once you gear your wizard with top-tier gear, they are definitely devastating. They are easy to gear for lower torments, but when trying to do higher torments, they require a decently large gear-check.

Having a basic 3APoC with the AP regen of set (and Astral Presence if needed) with the resource reduction paragon can go quite far in terms of how long you can channel. Another reason I prefer AT over Disintegrate is due to the lowered AP cost

The 2 AP/sec also helps quite a bit for channeling spells (AT/Disintegrate) The meteors are also still powerful enough to kill basic trash even in t6 most of the time.

I have the 4pc Tal bonus, so don't know what you mean by not going for meteors? The only meteor that will not proc (depending if I use Frost Nova or not) is ice. I am at a little over 50% cdr. Not worth sacrificing stats to go higher in my opinion right now. But I have considered crafting...

I'm running Vyr + Tals and Arcane (AT spec). No where near as face roll as my WD (but like the challenge), but still works. I still cannot get over the delay on AT vs. Disintegrate, but the damage speaks for itself to go AT. AT:C vs D:CN (at 1.66667 - 1.81818 aps for this example)...

I have both consoles but I suspect my PS4 will still be collecting dust for the foreseeable future, atleast until Magicka and No Man's Sky is released. Last year's E3 for Sony was very good (still waiting for most games though), this years, was on Nintendo level of crap.
