Not one person had to buy in and they are offering complete refund. So I have to give them a pass. DG gave a pretty good explanation about how they are looking at alpha.

Anyone else dislike the map or is it just me? I think it should be a small window or one of the maps (forget the MMO, maybe GW2) that is somewhat transparent so you can move around with your map up and it not be too inconvenient.

Once players start coming and going and players shift as friends or whatever cause them to move. That really impacts the world. You don't want prime real estate to be held by someone who quits or moves on. You also don't want a bunch of random claim holes. Muligan on Courage btw.

I think if you are "Dungeon Finding" you should be at a hub such as a Town Tavern where you could possibly also check into your room and/or craft, socialize, etc. There you could check-in with a Barkeep, Innkeep, or whatever to activate your LFG. This way, anyone at any other Tavern (or hub)...

I'm in that same boat. My oldest is really wanting to get into the game but i'm going to give it a try first. He's still happy with Minecraft at the moment but the creative potential in EQN:L is pretty high.

I wasn't necessarily speaking in alpha. Just speaking in generalities. I have no expectations outside of getting a glimpse at the very bare bones of the game.

He better have added a layer of the original song into what he released at Fan Faire.... it sounded cool and i'm sure he's a quality, top notch guy but come on. EQ has pretty notable music in the genre.

Very true.. not to down the game or anything but I really think they be expecting way too much functionality and content to be released in alpha. That's not going to happen. I'm sure we'll be able to build some stuff but I wouldn't get too excited. I'm not saying this due to it being SoE but...

I haven't had the opportunity to follow EQNL as much as I would have liked but is there any level of contested gameplay? Can people form factions or group up to take down rival NPC's? Are goblins or orcs trying to build in the area? Just curious.....

EQII has several bright spots. At one time, I would have considered it the best MMO available. I'm sure I would be in the minority but after WoW:TBC, I thought EQII really had a lot to offer. I'm sure some of that is still there but honestly, after Hartsman left, it went down hill fast...
