That's what makes it a good starter. Just beware, sustain is a bit difficult for that skill since you essentially can't leech and LoH isn't reliable.

Pick a skill you like and play it. The nerfs are likely not going to make starter builds unplayable. If you're looking for scaling your starter build into the end game, that's a different discussion. I'm likely going FB Deadeye into some CoC build. Or if CoC turns out too squishy, probably...

Are you sure about that? Here's what I'm having trouble balancing whenever I try to make a tanky CoC build in PoB: Tankyness High APS and CPS Crit rate/consistency(these are separate for some skills like Cyclone) CoC kept on cooldown To get the last three, I almost always have to go Assassin.

Opportunity cost still exists in devoting supports and links to make maintaining those stacks worth anything. There are many builds that don't have to stop to dps. Not coincidentally, to me at least, these are the best builds :) Before 3.4, you couldn't maintain Arcane Surge without stopping...

It would be pretty cool if they nerfed BV damage moderately and made it instant cast. Smooth playstyle for main skilling and lots of utility for applying on-hit effects in tons of builds. I actually can't think of anything I want to start the league with now that isn't JUST a starter build...

BV is powerful, it doesn't get this popular otherwise. It's the playstyle that sucks.

They'll be alright, people that want to play them likely will. But GC and BV based builds will make them look silly.

It's still in beta. What you're describing used to exist(Gwent) but they went and fucked up the consistency hardcore with the recent release. I'd play pre-Homecoming Gwent over MTG.

Spark, no, but Arc definitely is better than Storm Call in single target. Spark is understandable because the mechanics are much different. Why put up with Storm Call's delay if it doesn't offer any advantage?

It's not necessarily a problem. I've never used the skill, so I was hoping there was some combination of supports and/or uniques that gave Storm Call an advantage in certain situations.

That's the effect of the gear, not the skill. Arc, spark, ball lighting, etc, will clean up just as well, if not better.

I don't get the point of Storm Call. It's less damage per cast and dps than many other spells. Is it one of those skills that needs a rework soon?
