That's not a straight up comparison. That's region view for SC4. Region view for SC5 can have 16 tiles. It's still much smaller, but a 16 tile region does not fit in that little cube.

To reinforce one of Tuco's points, you don't need your college/uni near industry. Students shop, and the distance seems to have little or no effect on whether industry will promote.

Since reloading the launcher after the patch (automatic iirc), it is now checking for updates perpetually and basically doing nothing. Perhaps the server restarts they're doing are interrupting the patch system. No idea Vvoid, but I'll look.

I'm probably going to just let it play sometimes while I'm away and I don't have some kind of runaway growth. Unfortunately when you run out of any resource (including water I've heard) you have to start importing it from the region/global market to perpetuate your city services.
