They did beef it up. It runs the Snapdragon S4 Pro with 2 gigs of RAM now. That's the same guts as a Nexus 4.

I tried it in regular Firefox and got the same results. It seems restricted to movies though, TV shows in HD will play just fine. I'm guessing it's a policy forced by the big movie studios paranoid about people recording the HD streams and distributing them.

This is incorrect as far as PCs go. I watch stuff from Amazon in HD on my laptop while at work. The selection isn't as good as Netflix, but Prime is worth it for all the other stuff you get with it.

The paperwhite was the first e-reader I've owned and it's fantastic. E-ink is so much easier on the eyes than a LCD, especially when I've got the lights off reading in bed. The only complaint I have is that I'd prefer page turn buttons, but it's not a big deal.
