    Dark Souls 2

Yea, I've noticed the same - I had to restart shortly after the Last Giant, got irritated at losing 20k souls to gimp stuff because I'm so out of habit with using the shield (plus the whole ease of healing from quick retaliation - keep trying to quickly retaliate and just take more damage and...

Started out as Sorcerer, so he was easy to spell joust down - but he almost got me the first time before the shock of him being there wore off.

$60 in the states - $20 surcharge versus PS3. They did tweak ALOT with mob placement though, still on Fallen Giants area but the tweaks are pretty massive - ogre even before the first bonfire in there was hilarious.

Wow, thats a nosedive on its price, why exactly?

    Bloodborne

Nope. At this point I'm assuming it's DLC. Even on NG++ (From what I can tell at ++ nothing changes, not even power levels)

Might want to test various times as well - PSN will often start downloads at a ridiculously low speed for me for example (like barely 1 Mbps for 5-10 min before spiking up to 40+ if not better than that, the speeds it does blows anything else away at times, but it's always a slow start)

    Bloodborne

Well, add me to the Platinum Club. As for parrying tips - depends on what - on human stuff it's almost always at the peak of their swing - for nonhuman, it's pretty random or at least no pattern I could discern, frankly just easier to dodge and joust them down.

I'm on my last trohpy (Yarhnam Queen) now, and I've got to say for all the talk earlier of the Defilement Chalice being rape... it's really not so far with the first floor, wasn't even one shot kills from the boss.
  12. Vaclav

    Bloodborne

Depends on the Chalice in question - the difficulty goes up with Depth - Depth 1 honestly is probably doable around Father G level.

    Dark Souls 2

It's just weird, usually they promote them in advance for anything of worth. And they just did with Bloodborne for like 2-3 months. But nothing in advance here - I'll be upset if it's physical only.

    Dark Souls 2

Yes, I always do Pinwheel (and get the Gravelord Sword) first thing, and it doesn't disrupt anything
  15. Vaclav

    Bloodborne

NG+ cleared - man the souls given by bosses starts getting ridiculous - I'm using all three Moon runes admittedly, but 400k+ for some of the bosses is just silly.

    Dark Souls 2

Anyone seen official word if PSN in the US is going to get it? I really don't want to bother getting it physical, but still no sign of it P/O wise or coming soon on PSN....

    The Order: 1886

Yep - great summation (and why it should be a 8-8.5 not a 6)

They normally skip german voicing on most stuff Quin? Sidenote: For people having difficulties - have you tried using Beast Blood? I just started tinkering with it and it's amazing for boss slaying.

Neat, I was not aware they operated in such a way, that's kind of awesome for people in awful situations like him.

Could be the IHOP/Denny's over in Overlea/Parkville just happened to suck. I will definitely say First Watch's Cinnamon waffles w/ blueberry compote >>> any of the rest of stuff though.

Never tried the bagels (not much of a bagel guy - jewish in-laws so I get bagel'ed to death) - the cinnamon muffins at Wegman's were my goto breakfast every single morning for all my years there - love em. (They're ginormous too, would usually eat a half at a time)

    The Fast Food Thread

Never heard a second opinion of Archer's Farms to say the majority is with me (only have my wife and my own opinions) - but for Wegman's I'd never heard of anyone speaking ill of the bakery. And being that I worked at Hunt Valley, if it's there, I need to hassle up some folks still working there...

Are the respawns the problem or just the area in general? If its respawns - look for the bell maidens, rushing them is key to doing well in the upper parts. (Those chest things in the lower parts are hard to describe how to manage - but they're easy to just outrun)

Depends on if you did the rest of her questline - if you did her questline, the dude inside is meaner than she is. That said - Numbing Mist and Poison Daggers make either easy to cheese.

    New Progression Server confirmed

I took that just as him being political and it not being off the table IF another came down the line, not that another one would be. But then again, Aristo's post with the poll results did imply a Seasonal server is on the way to me... So maybe we're both right and they're going to try to...

Controller of my choice was PS3 until the past year - don't think they were ever compatible. And as Lenas stated, seeing some of the ridiculous hacks that happened was no bueno. Saw kid of a friend playing the PC version of DS2 and get invaded at SL15 by someone that clearly wasn't anywhere near...

I had to update my address to get it to resolve. I've also had something like that as an intermittent thing once or twice not related to that time (which was like a 2 day blackout until I got irritated and called the bank), but those just went away like an hour later - probably server load or...

    Bloodborne

I love all the games, but I'd put Bloodborne probably at #3 of the series for me - with Demons in dead last - all of them are 8.5+ games to me though. (10 DS, 9.5 DS2, 9 BB, 8.5 DeS) Very few other games I'd rate even a 9 for them to compete against.

The Kai Leng parts were corny, true - but good sections regardless of the silly ninja nonsense. Replace Kai with a rocket knocking your speeder down/etc and make him a random dude with a grudge and it's fine.

It's not really twitchy though - frantic individual combats, but much of it is measured just like Souls was. As someone that was a heavy shield user in Souls (and will be again on Tuesday) it just swapped tap block in sync with the attacks (to not just waste stamina regen holding it the whole...
