I'm really baffled how game design works. Do game designers not get input from their peers? Do they not have proposals in meetings where someone can speak up and say they think the idea is bad? I don't see how design decisions like these get passed the drawing board.

This game keeps giving me every reason not to get it. Problem is I always regret not getting a MMO for that opening month clusterfuck. There are things I actually like about the game and think are well done. The engine, PVP, class system, megaserver in theory and crafting.

My problem with it is everyone is constantly talking about pve sucks and who cares about adventure zones because pvp is fun. Now you really don't have overflow as an option. Maybe they will get lucky and all the Teso fanboys will be more then happy to just quest and PVE and the pvpers will get...

The problem is the measures they took ensure it's a clusterfuck. We know the overflow communicates with the megaserver because it saves your progress. Simply putting you in the queue while playing the overflow would pretty much eliminate those complaints. The overflow is not an option for pvp...

Actually the megaserver does sound great for keeping zones populated and eliminating dead servers. It's a step in the right direction. I can also understand a queue system early on because a mega server still can only handle so many people at a time. The overflow doesn't make sense at all...

So why even have an overflow server? This goes against everything the megaserver tech is supposed to accomplish. Also if you choose to play on overflow it doesn't even put you into a queue to get to the regular megaserver.
