I'm still considering it even though I'm at ilvl 850 & AK10 with my warrior. Wish there was a definitive way to say this class is better/more fun than that class so I could stop debating it.

Maybe the assumption is always 1 stack of ironfur and the check is partially overlapping another stack at the right time? If they increased druid armor by 100% baseline and then gutted GG such that you could maintain one less stack, would that make tanks happy without effectively changing...

Maybe they're designed around it being up 100%? Why do people assume active mitigation can't be up 100%? Now, ignore pain being up 100% would be pretty bad, but that's another story. I've always been able to ignore that mechanic on my warrior. Maybe it doesn't hit that hard?

I haven't played a monk, so in the spirit of your post, I won't comment on that. But to clarify, ironfur and ursol aren't cooldowns but active mitigation. There's nothing inherent to these types of abilities that says you shouldn't have them up all the time. Bears might be designed with the...

I'd prefer it be an on-demand short cooldown ability. As it is now, prot warrior rotation is this weird mix of insanely boring + stupidly specific. You spend 2/3rd of your GCD on 1 ability, 80% if you add shield slam. But for little bit of time, you have to watch your shield slam cooldown to...

Also, just a word of warning, some of the simcraft default profiles blow. Here's a snippet from the ret list: I see him using a logical OR there at the end, but I don't think whoever made this list fully realizes how awesome it can actually be. Do yourself a favor, if you're going to use...

Diablo 3 - Reaper of Souls

4 new sets to play with might be worth $10. I usually come back for a season if they changed a set for a class I like to play. From what I noticed in the preview, it's all D2 skills copied to D3. Hopefully, the interns gave it more thought than that. D3 is MUCH faster paced than D2.

Diablo 3 - Reaper of Souls

You're correct, $10 is not a big deal. It's the relative value compared to the rest of the game. They gave us free zones and set tweaks for at least a few seasons, now they want to try out DLC for essentially the same kind of content? Meh.

Having trouble finding definitive information on druid travel form since they just changed it. Let's say I have +100% ground and +280% flight speeds, travel form will use those speeds as well where applicable? But it *still* does not get bonuses to mount speed that actual mounts get? And what...

Marriage and the Power of Divorce

Tieing money to sexual expectations is kinda dangerous. I get the mentality, it's essentially "I did this for you, now you do something for me". But money is a hard metric while the "value" of sex quite subjective. Expectations of sex should be worked out on a relationship level. Not...

I was playing around with this a bit more. The goal was to get IP to return as much rage as possible via damage absorbed. Ideally, you would get all your rage back, making it a broken self-sustaining absorb shield. But, that doesn't look possible. This is the real reason IP got cut by 33%...

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

You get rage from IP absorbs ;) I just tested it. You perhaps get more than intended. It seemed like I was getting slightly more with IP up than not. Didn't test absorbed cast by other players though. I think this system makes sense so that IP doesn't hurt subsequent uses. There's a...
  32. Deathwing

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

I don't think that's double dipping. That's just getting the rage you would have gotten otherwise. The alternative(no rage on absorb) means spending rage on IP(or Shield Block) means you get less rage for subsequent uses of IP. Active mitigation hurting itself is just bad. I'm fine with...

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

For the most part, the system is ok. I mitigate more damage, I don't need to press my non-percent-based active mitigation as often. So, it acts like a quasi-percent-based mitigation. However, it's complicated, unintuitive, and feels bad being rage starved even if you are holding threat fine...

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

The more I think about RFDT(rage from damage taken), the more I'm surprised they brought it back. I was hoping that linking active mitigation to RFDT and freeing threat generation from resources would make the system work. But even then, the system has some conceptual problems. If I parry an...

Yeah, I realize the impracticality of stacking versatility, I like having these discussion for a purely theoretical standpoint. I'm not sure I'd categorize low haste as "huge gap in shieldblock". Single digit haste can still maintain 70% uptime, and I think something as simple as that we can...
  38. Deathwing

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

I didn't say anything about sims. More haste technically is more rage and IP, but it's not going to be significant(you said triple). Those that prioritize versatility will have fewer casts but they will be bigger.
