Well, thankfully my go to drives, the WD Blacks, are 9.5 and fit perfectly in the PS3 so they should be fine here too. Hopefully the PS4 does have a SATAIII controller, would be pretty dumb if it didn't. Still worth replacing the drive either way, just that's really cheaping out on hardware...
Ah, yeah, thought I hadn't seen anything official on it. The stuff in AO Blackgate is waaaaay more than a tease though. It's pretty blatant.
Also, Blackgate was great, like a really great Batroidvania game. But... $40 was way too much for it.
Lol, you have to spend $1000 to get $10 in rewards. That's like, shittier than Gamestop's terrible program (barely). Looks like it's only not worthless if you have a Sony/Playstation credit card.
The FAQ only says that it comes with a SATAII HDD, it doesn't mention what it supports. I'mpretty certainit does use a SATAIII board, but I could be wrong on that.
Also their own FAQ has some errors:
People who have taken apart the PS4 found that it uses a 12.5 bay.
Don't have any handy, but it'd be exactly the same type of differences you'd see on a PC. Better loading, texture streaming, etc. That's about it. Though since the PS3 was only SATA1 there was dick all difference between SSDs and 7200 rpm drives on it. The PS4, I believe, has a proper SATAIII...
Oh shit, PSA: Before anyone goes and buys a Raptor, make sure to check the height on it. The one Tuco linked has a height of 15 and the max supported on the PS4 is 12.5 (most laptop drives are 9.5).
I guess that makes sense. I can't really possibly care since I wouldn't be using a PS4 for any of that stuff anyways and have 50 different devices that can do everything. I imagine this would suck for someone who only has one console hooked up and doesn't have a smart TV or htpc or anything like...
Pretty sure the story is that it was manufactured 2+ months ago with a barebones OS that made sure to at least play games right. They clearly did not have the OS completely ready at the manufacturing stage when they started and have to patch the majority of the functionality in.
Same goes for...
I'm not really down for going as far as a Raptor, but I think I'll be getting one of these:Amazon.com: Western Digital 750 GB WD Black SATA III 7200 RPM 16 MB Cache Bulk/OEM Notebook Hard Drive WD7500BPKX: Computers Accessories

No, it does not work with GTA5, unfortunately. It works flawlessly with Batman AO though! It works with most stuff from what I've read, not sure why it doesn't work with GTA5.
Yeah, they do now.
Also, if you already have a PS3, you could just not get rid of it and use it for a media server. X360/PS3 aren't worth shit for trade-in/sell value anyways.
You're truly an idiot, Colum. The whole "Better on PC" shit is irrelevant to the vast majority of console owners. Get your PC faggotry the fuck out of here. No one gives a shit about little PC snob nerds.
Games that will be out that week:
Killzone Shadow Fall
Knack
Call of Doggy: Ghosts
Battlefield 4
NBA2k 14
Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag
Just Dance 2014
Fifa 14
Madden 25
Lego Marvel Super Heroes
Injustice: Gods Among Us
Btw, some Clarification on the Target Ad: It's for *all* games and runs 11/10-11/16. Not just the PS4 titles on the ad page. Any video game will do.
Need for Speed: Rivals is another PS4 launch game, might consider that in the B2G1F.
Hrm, nm, NFS doesn't come out until the 22nd according...
I've never gotten into Military Shooters at all or I'd probably do it for BF4. The only one I've ever played is Spec Ops: The Line for about 20 minutes. Never played any CoDs or Battlefields.
Maybe if MLB The Show was on that list I'd consider that.
Respawn will probably pump out Titanfall 2 or Titanfall: Somethingsomething before too long. Maybe Titanfall GOTY edition.
Respawn: EA made Titanfall deal, only for one game, will work on PS4 later - NeoGAF
Hrm, I'm getting AC4 CE from Amazon and Knack & Killzone from Gamestop. I guess I could cancel my Gamestop orders, but I don't actually care about Fifa, Madden, NBA2k, or BF4.
