I"m pretty certain that the +stats gold cost is only when you feed more +stats, not when you feed normal monsters. My siren is +18 lvl 24, cost is 2400 gold to feed her a pendra I just checked. + stat monsters do have their own progressive gold cost however.

its an amusing time waster, its got some ocd collection aspects, the gem matching can be quite challenging. Its definitely worth re-rolling unless you plan to drop monies.
