If you mean the Bishop from the raid... no, I'd say the multiple arrows and the slit throat were pretty effective.

    Warlock 2: the exiled

I played the pre release version for a few hours and I found it a bit dull, the fractured world while an interesting idea wasn't implemented very well; it creates choke points everywhere leading to near complete isolation of competing mages which means you (& the AI mages) end up fighting random...

    All things Brandon Sanderson

Elantris is his first novel and it shows; it's not horrendous but you won't be missing anything if you never pick it up. If you loved Mistborn 1 then continue onwards.

Stormlight Archive ( Released Spoilers )

I'd hardly call Nightblood intelligent from what I read in Warbreaker, more like barely self aware. It has potential though since Sanderson can do anything he wants with it and Vasher; who knows how much time has passed and how much has changed, Vasher after all has seemingly turned into a...

    What did you just read?

The quality drops off quite a bit after book 2 in WoT; the things he does wrong with his characters only become more pronounced as the story goes on. Some books are better than others but I felt that he never recaptured the momentum he had in the first two books and instead went forward...

Stormlight Archive ( Released Spoilers )

I imagine that it will be able to feed off of whatever powers shardblades and stormlight in general like it does breath from the wielder in Warbreaker. It still seems like it would be a downgrade from an honorblade though as the sword doesn't grant any abilities to its wilder or didn't in...

    All things Brandon Sanderson

All logical explanations but it would have been more interesting and credible if we got to see into the mans mind a little bit to reach that judgement; as it is he like most of the other princes is a blank who is defined by simplistic motivations and who enters or exits the narrative at a whim...

    All things Brandon Sanderson

That's how it's presented; that he thrives on being contrary and irksome to the other princes and that he also happens, quite fortuitously, to be a true patriot but it just doesn't sit right with me because he didn't know anything about her. Men in positions of power don't remain there by...

Yes once she meets her new "mentor" everything just starts clicking for her again for not entirely valid reasons. Her patron in the war camps is an especially prime example as he doesn't want anything from her; it's almost like she enchanted him into believing that he actually is her uncle...

Stormlight Archive ( Released Spoilers )

He was the representative of a group of beggars in Elantris and he had about one line of dialogue; it was just a cameo, he had no actual role in that novel, I'm not sure about the others. Also to anyone considering a read of Elantris I would say don't as it only serves as an example of how much...

    Archer

I despise this argument in defense of bad writing in fiction. For a story to have any sort of quality and impact on the viewer/reader there needs to be some level of plausibility and continuity (within the context of the narrative) to a characters motivations and actions or else the story will...

Stormlight Archive ( Released Spoilers )

The sword has no information pertaining to it within this series as far as I know, that said, some of his other books tie into his Cosmere universe and some characters make crossovers (Wit) and now this sword which is presumably from his other novel Warbreaker. Other references to crossovers...

    South Park Stick of Truth

Thieves don't get any ae, their main draw is that they can pretty much 1 shot almost anything with backstab if it's stunned first. Which is kind of a bummer as you end up only using 2 abilities for most of the game until you just get bored and start using the others for flavor. But yes it...

    South Park Stick of Truth

The fights are just easier and thus more boring. Anyway this has been a great experience so far apart from some of the more anal quick time events. South Park Stick of Truth

Managed it on a thief with mug (stun) x2 then critical backstabs x2 the next turn to kill off two of the goons. Kenny's unicorn charge managed the 3rd one and beat up gore a bit. Damn that stun grenade though.

    All things Brandon Sanderson

I am about 150 pages in to WoR and so far so good, no real complaints at all, I also liked the acknowledgements section; its refreshing to see a successful author with such an apparent appreciation for a good editing team. My only gripe so far are the damn "journal" quotes before each chapter...

    South Park Stick of Truth

It feels like you are in an episode and great fun so far. My only complaints are that there is no sell all button and you cant rebind any keys as I'd rather attack/block with the keyboard. I went with a black thief to see if Cartman would say anything about it, no dicethough he does mention...

    2014 Oscars

I thought 12 Years was well made but shallow as it had nothing going for it but a bald play on the viewers emotions; that and nothing that was done was particularly original compared to prior depictions in other films with richer characters.

Don't avoid everything hes written based on Mistborn; I know most people seem to rave about it but he lost me at book 2 (read 3rd anyway, it got worse) in that series also for similar and other reasons. The Way of Kings, Steelheart and a few others are quite enjoyable reads.

Kellhus is the villain because he's an insufferable character that dominates everyone and everything flawlessly. But he is also the hero because without him all of mankind would be devoured by those goblin things (forget what they are called) and their master. I really liked Achamian before...

    Banished

I enjoy the building and management but my issue is the fact that you can play for several hundred game years and nothing really ever changes beyond scale; you start with a small village and end with that and several other satellite villages scattered around it. In all that time you achieve no...

    The Black Company

I thought the quality dropped off a bit once the Black Company returned to their "homeland"; it felt like there were more books than there strictly needed to be and the story got a bit convoluted, but that largely depends on how you feel about the usage of magic and its influence on...

    Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Judging by the first video this sounds very ambitious if they are actually serious about rendering that many players on a battlefield at the same time with those graphics. They would have to one up the Arma team and somehow ensure there aren't desyncing warhorses blinking in and out all over...

    What did you just read?

I couldn't force myself to continue past book 4; the first 3 had their ups and downs but 4 is a poster child for bad fiction and I've heard that 5 is just as disappointing. I liked early Roland and Jake somewhat but the rest of the ka-tet made me skip paragraphs and ponder why I bothered to...

Hope that helps. I do hope that Kaladin doesn't become too overpowered in the next book(s), the only things that balanced him out were an imperfect control over his abilities and the horrible position he was trapped in previously. Szeth is basically the hand of God but hes balanced out by...

    What did you just read?

Just finished Justin Cronin's "The Passage" and it was... an abomination of filler, absurdity, and Deus ex Machina. This is the worst novel that I have read since Peter Bretts The Daylight War, a dubious accomplishment but one nonetheless; most bad books tend to start out with at least an...
