I think they charge $150 for repairing a PS3, at least that's what mine cost a few years ago. Not sure if they lowered it or not since then, you might want to call them and find out. You might be better off just buying an entirely new one at that price and just popping your old HDD into the new one.

If the X720 wasn't so close to coming out I'd actually consider one of these: A high quality trackball in place of the right analog stick would make controllers just about perfect, imo. It'd be an order of magnitude more accurate for aiming and I can use a thumb trackball like Logitech...

Dark Cloud 1 was okay, Dark Cloud 2 was a lot better and I enjoyed it quite a bit. There's also a game called Steambot Chronicles that reminded me a bit of Dark Cloud and was pretty fun. Worth checking out with an emulator if you're bored.
