Movie Dune is far superior to the tv one. Even with its 80s quality the movie has less geek schlock than the miniseries. Slightly more optimistic after seeing what Villeneuve did with Blade Runner.

I've not seen any of the animated spinoffs. Heard little to nothing of current theories. Looking forward to a damn good story, one that pushes all of the characters and raises the stakes. So long as it's not a retread but something rather distinctive and badass.

Lucas would never have gone along with full-fledged grey jedis. Not sold on Disney going that route either but it has got some inventiveness.

I feel that way about Abrams and Christopher Nolan. Abrams is a cheap version of Spielberg while Nolan shoots everything like a music video. Every scene has got to be an iconic event. Ends up as anything but. Snyder's the same shit.
