You mean you want to argue whether or not LOL is a replicated DOTA? My point was that you think we're still waiting for someone to replicate WOW's success. My statement says that it already happened. The only debate is whether or not your argument is strictly defined to RPGs or not.

It's already been replicated, it's called League of Legends. They took a more "hardcore" game (DOTA/DOTA2) and streamlined it, made it a bit easier and now it's one of the most, if not #1, online game in the world.

Wildstar probably would of been really fun if instead of being WASD-hotkey based, it was full on MOBA based with full on movement and ability control.

There is a vast vast vast different between the worship of MOBA players and MMO players. You can't even compare the two of them at all. But I agree with the rest of your design theory. Watering down content is boring content.

It's a combination of a lot of things. I think it comes down to what your goals are and the effort you put into them. Who cares what label you put on things anyway.

I agree with your sentiment to some degree but I think it's invalid when compared to the rest of the world. In almost any hobby you have people who are hardcore and casual. LOL has pro's and people like me. Football has Pros, College Stars and Flag football players. Snowboarders, Skateboarders...

Yeah the leveling process is horrible. It's relatively short, but it's horrible. You don't get skill points every level and somewhere around the 20s quests go from killing 6 dudes to killing 12.

Class design and customization is pretty shallow in GW2. I like the animations and the ideas, but when you get into the details it's incredibly boring once you hit level 20.
